2021 Dally M Medal winner Tom Trbojevic played 18 games for the season, just 15 in the regular season voting period, scoring 28 tries and was still only one point of Jonathan Thurston's record votes of 36. Trbojevic also won the Wally Lewis Medal for the player of the series in Origin. The made him a new record holder in the game, the player who has played the least amount of games to win the Dally M Medal.
Nathan Cleary had his chance to beat Trbojevic in the final two rounds, but did not poll one vote which ensured the latter was home and hosed having played brilliantly.
Trbojevic (35 votes) beat Nathan Cleary (30 votes), Cody Walker (29 votes), James Tedesco (23 votes) and Daly Cherry-Evans (23 votes) for the award.
