A competitive midweek meeting awaits at Warwick Farm on Wednesday, April 1, with an eight-race card featuring a blend of in-form runners and emerging prospects.

With key form lines emerging from recent metropolitan meetings, punters can assess the chances across the program while also keeping an eye on Group 1 Futures Markets as autumn contenders continue to develop.

Warwick Farm Tips April 1

Asahi Super Dry Handicap Tips (Race 3)

Warwick Farm Next Best Bet - Race 3 No. 8 Oso Spirited

She sat on a good speed and kicked clear to record a soft victory when resuming in a Warwick Farm Super Maiden on a Soft 7 surface back on March 7, with a little space between runs.

Oso Spirited has since returned to the trials where the mare worked well, only being touched off late by a smart one in Miss Rubini.

The four-year-old has clearly come on from her first two campaigns, having previously been tested at Group 3 level before joining the Waterhouse and Bott stable.

However, she had two runs without figuring during her first Sydney campaign last winter.

She should land on speed again under Rachel King, and with most exposed rivals up in the weights and/or out of form, this shapes as a strong opportunity to bring up win number two.

Ranvet Handicap Tips (Race 4)

Warwick Farm Favourite - Race 4 No. 8 Mirzann

This looks D-Day for Mirzann, who has been building well through his preparation.

He returned with a solid effort over seven furlongs, a trip short of his best.

Off that run we were with the Chris Waller-trained galloper second-up, where he finished fourth at Warwick Farm.

Mirzann then backed up seven days later stepping to 2125m at Wyong, recording the fastest closing sectionals of the race when just missing the runner-up spot.

Fitter again with that staying run under his belt and with James McDonald engaged, the gelding looks set to get every chance to bring up win number three.

Bisley Workwear Handicap Tips (Race 6)

Warwick Farm Value Bet - Race 6 No. 6 Totoka

Totoka has gone up at big odds again and shapes as a strong each-way chance.

We were with the mare last start at Wyong where she should have won in this grade, but found herself back in the field and in an awkward position before rattling home late for third on March 18.

She had been building well prior to that, including settling closer to the speed when fourth of seven second-up at Warwick Farm.

That form has stood up, with both the winner and third placegetter going on to be competitive at Group level.

Ideally the track doesn’t improve too much, but with her form profile and the price on offer, Totoka looks excellent value again.

Hawaii Five Oh @ Vinery Stud Handicap Tips (Race 8)

Warwick Farm Best Bet - Race 8 No. 1 Formal Display

The main knock is a lack of second-up form, however Formal Display remains a lightly raced galloper with upside.

It was hard not to be impressed with the March 18 victory when we were aboard the Archibald-trained import first-up.

He sat on a good speed and held on to record a soft win, finishing as the clear pick of the on-speed runners in a fast-run race.

While competitive through his first Australian campaign, his lead-up trials and most recent performance suggest he has improved further this time in.

He is only up half a kilo for staying in the same grade, with the 3kg claim from Molly Fitzgerald seeing him well in, and she rode a winner for the Archibald yard last week.
