Doomben Value Bet - Race 1 No. 4 Lofty Macsporran

Twice sold cheaply at the sales as a yearling, the gelding finished held in both barrier trials.

His second trial saw the three-year-old beaten five-and-a-half lengths when finishing sixth in a 1050m event at Deagon in February.

A much-improved effort followed on debut at Grafton last month, where he finished runner-up over 1100m.

Ridden cold on that occasion, he worked home strongly to be beaten just over three lengths by a more experienced rival.

While that form is yet to be tested, improvement is expected stepping to 1200m.

Sky Racing Class 5 Handicap Tips (Race 2)

Doomben Next Best Bet - Race 2 No. 1 Yoshino

Yoshino has produced two solid efforts at the Gold Coast this preparation, including a third-place finish when resuming in February.

He was beaten one-and-a-half lengths over 1200m in a Class 5 handicap held on a Good surface on that occasion.

A step up to 1400m saw the son of Lonhro record the fifth win of his career in a Class 4 handicap.

That performance rated well, with the ninth home going on to win at Ipswich subsequently.

On-speed tactics are expected again from barrier five, with current form suggesting he can overcome previous struggles at this track.

Drinkwise Benchmark 70 Handicap Tips (Race 4)

Doomben Best Bet - Race 4 No. 9 Fashionable

Fashionable showed improvement with racing last preparation, breaking through for her maiden win at Hawkesbury in October.

That victory came over 1800m on a Good 4 surface, where she settled midfield before finishing strongly.

She followed up with a solid fourth in the Group 2 Wakeful Stakes at Flemington over 2000m.

After a break, two quiet trials preceded a first-up run at Rosehill over 1500m where she finished sixth of seven.

A more suitable distance and class drop into Benchmark 70 company both work in her favour second-up.

Ladbrokes Mates Mode Class 1 Handicap Tips (Race 7)

Doomben Roughie - Race 7 No. 19 Quien Step

Quien Step has made four appearances since breaking her maiden in impressive fashion over 1000m at Goulburn in May last year.

She was successful on a Soft 7 track that day when trained by Ron Quinton and has since finished in the top five at each outing.

This preparation began with a fourth-place finish over 900m at Newcastle in February.

She was beaten just over two-and-a-half lengths after seeing little daylight in the straight, and encountered similar issues when stepped up to 1100m at Gosford last time.

A wide barrier suggests she will again be ridden with restraint, but her consistency gives her claims in the finale.
