David Hayes and Zac Purton combine with Star Brose, a five-year-old who has not done a whole lot wrong aside from an All-Weather failure back in January.

While his recent runs have been at six furlongs, exposed form suggests Colourful King is more effective at 1000m, a trip he returns to this evening.

Francis Lui’s stable has been a profitable one to follow at Happy Valley this season, with 12 winners at the circuit for 2025/26 producing a return on investment of better than 35%.

The average winning price of those victors is almost $14, highlighting the stable’s ability to prepare one at a price.

He trains Lucky Twin Stars, who is a long quote for the finale.

The son of D’Argento was brave without luck over this track-and-trip last time out, where he covered ground in a muddling-run affair and stuck on fairly well for a seventh-of-12 finish.

There is still upside with the four-year-old, who has been competitive in this company since a Class 4 triumph back in January.
