Daegu Handicap Tips (Race 3)

Happy Valley Best Bet - Race 3 No. 9 Star Brose

David Hayes and Zac Purton combine with Star Brose, a five-year-old who has not done a whole lot wrong aside from an All-Weather failure back in January.

His form either side of that has been very consistent, including a third-place finish last time out over 2000m.

There was merit to that performance, despite travelling like the winner a long way out and being left vulnerable early when sitting close to a fast speed.

The quinella came from back in the field and rightfully so, given the pressure up front.

He could easily have won either of his prior two attempts at Happy Valley, including an eye-catching second here on March 4 behind Ace War, who bolted in his next start before just missing in a Class 3 last Wednesday.

The Korea Racing Authority Trophy Tips (Race 5)

Happy Valley Value Bet - Race 5 No. 4 Mighty Fighter

It has been a consistent start to the year for trainer Ricky Yiu, which is further evidenced by his April stats with five winners and 14 placegetters recorded this month.

He saddles up Mighty Fighter, a three-year-old who has always shown some potential in the trials and was respected in the market at a single-figure quote for his Sha Tin debut on March 29.

Unfortunately, he cost himself the race at the start when rearing, making it a clear forgive performance.

He has since returned to the trials with a quiet workout recorded on April 21.

Two winners have already come from that Sha Tin Class 4, and with Hugh Bowman staying aboard in a weak affair on Wednesday night, sharp improvement at start two would not shock.

Seoul Handicap Tips (Race 7)

Happy Valley Next Best Bet - Race 7 No. 2 Colourful King

A son of Blue Point from the David Eustace yard, Colourful King has been a very consistent sprinter throughout this season.

He has recorded four seconds and a victory from his first five starts of the 2025/26 campaign.

That top-two run ended in unlucky circumstances when badly held up at Happy Valley on March 18.

Taken back from a wide draw in a leader-dominated affair last time out, he made inroads for a one-and-a-half-length defeat when completely unsuited by the race shape.

While his recent runs have been at six furlongs, exposed form suggests Colourful King is more effective at 1000m, a trip he returns to this evening.

Jeju Handicap Tips (Race 9)

Happy Valley Roughie - Race 9 No. 11 Lucky Twin Stars

Francis Lui’s stable has been a profitable one to follow at Happy Valley this season, with 12 winners at the circuit for 2025/26 producing a return on investment of better than 35%.

The average winning price of those victors is almost $14, highlighting the stable’s ability to prepare one at a price.

He trains Lucky Twin Stars, who is a long quote for the finale.

The son of D’Argento was brave without luck over this track-and-trip last time out, where he covered ground in a muddling-run affair and stuck on fairly well for a seventh-of-12 finish.

There is still upside with the four-year-old, who has been competitive in this company since a Class 4 triumph back in January.
