A $15,000 purchase at the Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale last year, the gelding showed up well in his trials ahead of his debut.
While unable to win in three trial starts, he finished in the first three on each occasion, including placing second over 1000m at Balaklava in the third of those.
The selection went on to make his debut over 1100m at this venue two weeks ago, delivering a good effort in placing third.
The gelding jumped as favourite for that race and was keen in the early stages prior to meeting trouble in running.
Ultimately, the pick was beaten just over one-and-a-half lengths into third on a Good 4 surface, and the slightly softer going expected here shouldn’t pose an issue while improvement is anticipated.

Murray Bridge Roughie - Race 5 No. 8 Kushan Khanivale
The gelding has shown a liking for wet surfaces in the past, with nine of his sixteen outings on soft ground resulting in top-three finishes.
Those efforts include a good second contesting a Benchmark 56 handicap at Gawler in June last year.
The six-year-old ended that prep with a solid fifth, beaten just over five lengths in a Benchmark 0-56 handicap over this distance at Balaklava in September.
The pick raced on a sound surface that day and, having been spelled subsequently, returned to action with a trial over 600m at this venue recently.
Partnered by Brooke King, he finished fourth in that trial, and with an inside draw and proven first-up record, Kushan Khanivale may prove up to delivering a surprise victory.

Murray Bridge Value Bet - Race 8 No. 7 Silver Chaos
The four-year-old won over this distance in Class 1 company at Gawler earlier this season and has made just two starts since that November success.
The daughter of Barbados ended that prep with a fair sixth, having lost a plate in a 1250m Class 2 event at Morphettville Parks.
The mare resumed without a trial and produced a solid effort when finishing seventh over 1000m at Morphettville Parks.
Beaten four-and-a-half lengths that day, she is expected to appreciate the rise back to this distance.
Silver Chaos is expected to improve second-up, with wet-track form and versatility from a wide barrier both positives.
