Sportsbet Jockey Watch Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate Tips (Race 1)

Morphettville Best Bet - Race 1 No. 4 Laws Wars

The New Zealand-bred gelding has shown up well in both starts to date. registering top three finishes on each occasion.

The first of those efforts saw the son of Derryn beaten just under seven lengths into third in an 1200m maiden at Gawler early last month.

Racing on a Soft 7 surface that day, Laws Wars had a subsequent winner behind him in fifth, while the winner Bootlegger finished a good fourth in Group 3 company here subsequently.

Richard & Chantelle Jolly’s representative overraced and was keen early in that day effort, while he was ridden cold prior to finishing second at Murray Bridge last time.

Dropped to 1100m when again racing on a wet track, the youngster shaped as if the extra distance he gets here will suit when finishing strongly that day.

His main rival here Kalmana finished one place behind him at Murray Bridge and he looks up to confirming that form on Wednesday.

Thomas Farms Maiden Plate Tips (Race 2)

Morphettville Parks Favourite - Race 2 No. 12 Lottie Jane

The daughter of Tassort ticks plenty of boxes here, having shown good form since returning from a spell.

Lottie Jane was set some stiff tasks against previous winners when racing at Benchmark 64 and Benchmark 66 level at times last prep.

Having her sights lowered to maiden company this time around has seen her deliver two good third-place finishes on wet tracks.

The first of those saw the four-year-old beaten just over four-and-a-half-lengths when contesting a 1050m maiden at Balaklava just under a month ago.

The mare went on to fill the same position when beaten one-and-a-half-lengths in a similar race to this held over this course and distance twelve days later.

A winner has already emerged from that track/trip event, while experienced hoop Jason Holder stys aboard for this third-up assignment.

Morphettville Value Bet - Race 7 No. 9 Fioreen

Andrew Clarken’s mare showed good form in Victoria for her previous trainer, including when fourth over 1600m at Sandown in July last year.

That effort, which came at Benchmark 70 level, marked her final start for Phillip Stokes and she was off for nearly eleven months subsequently.

Fioreen kept on behind to finish just under three-and-a-half-lengths seventh over 1400m at this venue on his return at the end of June.

The five-year-old jumped from a wide barrier that day and she can be forgiven a last-of-fourteen at Murray Bridge subsequently, where the good going possibly against her.

The step up in distance is a positive in this contest, as is the return to a forecast wet surface.

The daughter of Fiorente boasts a good barrier in six and racing third-up, she looks value to make the perfect start to her 2025/26 season.
