Morphettville Parks stages a competitive nine-race metropolitan program on Saturday, with several progressive gallopers and in-form runners engaged across the Adelaide card.

Morphettville Parks Next Best Bet - Race 3 No. 11 Grinzinger Halo

The rise in distance and slight drop in grade are two big ticks for Grinzinger Halo.

The mare was specked at odds last Saturday and, while 1200m proved too sharp, especially given the start she spotted the field, she still worked home well for fourth-of-15.

That followed a luckless resumption on the Parks circuit last month.

Grinzinger Halo struck third-up earlier in the season when rising from 1250m to a mile at Balaklava.

She then backed that maiden triumph up with a Class 2 metropolitan victory at Morphettville and later placed over the mile in 0-68 company before a spell.

AIG Security Handicap Tips (Race 5)

Morphettville Parks Best Bet - Race 5 No. 7 Snallygaster

The son of Stratum Star dictated proceedings first-up at Oakbank when recording a soft maiden triumph over 1050m.

That race has already produced two subsequent winners.

Snallygaster then faced a much sterner task at Morphettville on May 2 in quite a deep BM64.

A handy Ciaron Maher-trained winner enjoyed an ideal run in transit, while Snallygaster was comfortably the pick of the on-speed brigade after racing outside a leader who dropped out badly.

The extra distance is the unknown, although the low draw should allow Todd Pannell to control proceedings on the Parks circuit.

Morphettville Parks Value Bet - Race 6 No. 3 Kalmana

Any rain around will not hurt the chances of Kalmana.

The gelding has not finished outside the placings in four attempts on Soft ground, including both career victories.

Kalmana did not appear to run a strong 1800m in Melbourne last time, although he still stuck on honestly after taking up the running.

That race suited the swoopers and both runners who settled outside him and offered early pressure finished behind the son of Microphone.

He carries 1.5kg less despite finding an easier assignment, while Blindato and Baie De Seine are impressive Victorian debut winners who shape as the main threats.

Morphettville Parks Roughie - Race 8 No. 13 Acappella Moon

The Hannah Bryce-trained mare was set far too big a task on May 2.

The five-year-old never threatened after settling back and wide throughout, which was against the pattern of the meeting.

Despite that, Acappella Moon still produced the second-fastest final 400m and 200m sectionals of the BM76 contest.

Her prior form had been highly consistent, particularly around Morphettville Parks through late summer and early autumn.

The highlight came with a February 28 victory at this venue and she showed there that a low draw can be used, with barrier three providing more tactical options in the penultimate.
