Morphettville Roughie - Race 3 No. 12 Kick Your Knees Up

Kick Your Knees Up shaped well in a Murray Bridge trial back in July, winning her heat over 950m in good style.

She made her debut a couple of weeks later on the Parks track here, racing handy before sticking on for third on a soft 6 in a 1000m maiden.

That form has worked out well, with both horses in front of her going on to score in metropolitan company.

She has been competitive in two subsequent maiden runs, including a fourth at Mildura last time when never far away from the inside draw.

With a kinder gate again and Teagan Voorham taking the ride, she looks an each-way chance to surprise at odds.

Dominant Handicap Tips (Race 5)

Morphettville Next Best Bet - Race 5 No. 1 Hypernova

Hypernova has raced well at this circuit, placing here in July before breaking through stylishly at Murray Bridge next start.

He relished the return to good ground on that occasion, surging clear to win by more than two lengths.

Back to this track on his next outing, he wasn’t disgraced from a wide draw in a Benchmark 64 before filling the quinella again at Murray Bridge last time.

The gelding is consistent and looks well suited up in distance, with barrier one giving him every chance in the run.

Todd Pannell jumps back aboard and the pair look capable of combining for another victory.

Spring Racing Carnival At Morphettville Handicap Tips (Race 6)

Morphettville Best Bet - Race 6 No. 2 Pelevecchio

Pelevecchio was competitive in strong company last season, including a sixth in the Australasian Oaks here over 2000m.

She backed that up with a fifth in the SA Fillies Classic at 2500m, proving she could stay and handle quality opposition.

The Phillip Stokes-trained filly resumed at Murray Bridge over 1400m last month, finishing third and beaten little more than a length.

That return run looks a strong platform, with winners behind her that day and the form stacking up on the Parks track since.

Up to the mile now, she looks primed to strike second-up with natural improvement.

Happy 40th Birthday Heath ‘Nudge’ Lambert Handicap (Race 8)

Morphettville Value Bet - Race 8 No. 2 Areyoureadyforit

Areyoureadyforit broke through for her maiden win at Ballarat in May, scoring by half a length over 1000m on good ground.

She wasn’t at her best at Pakenham next start but improved again at Bendigo in July, running fourth in a Benchmark 64 on heavy ground at big odds.

A wide gate didn’t help her that day, but she stuck on well and the form out of the race has been solid.

She returned to Bendigo last month and placed second in a Benchmark 62 on heavy ground when jumping from the inside.

Crossing the border to South Australia, a soft track looks ideal and she appeals as a value runner in this grade.
