Eagle Farm Best Bet - Race 2 No. 1 Barazin
The son of Siyouni recorded a win on debut in France in April 2023 and while unable to score in his first prep since switching hemisphere’s he delivered some good efforts in defeat.
Kris Lees’ gelding was racing third up when breaking through for his first Australian win when successful by three lengths in a Class 1 set weights plate at Kembla Grange in December.
The selection jumped at short odds when accounting for his seven rivals in impressive fashion with the third, sixth and seventh all going on to win subsequently.
A solid fifth over 1800m on the Kensington track at Randwick followed prior to recording his second win this prep when taking out a 1900m Benchmark 72 handicap at Canterbury.
The five-year-old won by nearly two lengths when racing on a soft 5 surface at Canterbury and he has underfoot conditions to suit here.
The pick is suited by the weights here and with a good barrier is taken to complete a double.

Eagle Farm Roughie - Race 3 No. 3 All Stashed Up
The seven-year-old won three times last prep and while she has yet to hit those heights this time around she has finished in the first four in two of her three starts.
The first of those saw her place third when beaten just over a length in a 1000m Benchmark 70 handicap at Toowoomba at the end of December.
The pick was racing first up on a good 4 surface that day and she went on to finish one-and-a-half-lengths fourth over the same distance in a Benchmark 70 event here next time.
While she could finish only ninth over 1110m at Doomben subsequently the mare registered a creditable effort having met with trouble in running that day.
The daughter of Better Than Ready is a proven wet track performer, goes well for jockey Vlad Duric and may prove capable of delivering a surprise victory jumping from a wide barrier.
XXXX Open Handicap Tips (Race 7)
Eagle Farm Next Best Bet - Race 7 No. 2 Golden Decade
The gelding recorded four wins as a three-year-old including over 1300m when racing on a soft 5 track at this venue last May.
The son of Sooboog ended his last campaign with a length victory when racing on a sound surface over 1350m at Ipswich in July.
While Matthew Dunn’s representative failed to make an impact on a heavy 10 surface first up that prep the form of that race did include subsequent The Syndicate winner Payline.
The third home that day has also won since and the pick was given a barrier trial at Ballina prior to running over 1400m at this venue last month.
The selection registered a narrow victory when contesting a Class 6 set weights event held on a good 4 track that day and he looks ready to return to handicap racing.
Apprentice Emily Lang, on board last time out is again set to ride with the pair looking up to registering their second win together.
Magic Millions Gold Coast March Benchmark 85 Handicap Tips (Race 8)
Eagle Farm Value Bet - Race 8 No. 1 Jetty
Chris & Corey Munce’s representative recorded his first top three finish this prep when beaten two-and-a-half-lengths into third over this track and trip last month.
A change of tactics saw the gelding race from the front in a Benchmark 90 handicap held on a good 4 track that day having been ridden with restraint over shorter distances in two starts prior this prep.
The pick was dropped back to 1400m and stepped up in class when acquitting himself well in finishing fifth over 1400m in the Listed Sunshine Coast at Sunshine Coast last time out.
The gelding has begun awkwardly of late and he is expected to race close to the speed jumping from barrier six.
While the selection has raced exclusively on good going this prep he knows what it takes to win on a soft 5 surface and with Angela Jones an eye-catching jockey booking he looks value to record a win.
