Two wins at Northam followed with the pick ended that prep with a fourth when jumping at odds-on for a 1000m contest at Ascot in October.

The son of Deep Field returned to action at Bunbury just under two weeks ago getting home by a narrow margin in a Class 5 handicap held on a good 4 surface.

A change of tactics saw the pick race from off the pace on that occasion having been ridden close to or on the speed in all five starts last prep.

The gelding boasts a good barrier next to the rail and with Clint Johnston-Porter riding he looks capable of recording his second win at this venue.

The four-year-old broke through for his first win when taking out a 1600m maiden on the Scarpside course here at the start of August.

The pick failed to shine when down the field at Belmont subsequently however he trialled well ahead of his return to action at Ascot last month.

The gelding tracked the speed prior to resuming with a two-length victory in a 1500m event held on a good 4 surface when racing first up.

A return to Ascot followed two weeks later with Simon Miller’s representative stepped up to 1800m for the first time when contesting a Benchmark 66+ handicap.

The selection recorded a one-length win when again racing on a good 4 track that day with his jockey here Chris Parnham on board for both of those triumphs.

The son of Rommel finished strongly having been ridden with more restraint last time out and stepping up in distance he looks up to completing a hat-trick.

Pinjarra Value Bet - Race 5 No. 10 Antique Star

The daughter of Pierro is one of two in the field for Michael Grantham and she showed good form last prep winning twice on wet tracks.

The second of those wins saw her come home two-and-a-half-lengths clear of her rivals in a 1650m Class 1 handicap at Belmont at the end of August.

The selection made just one subsequent start that prep and she returned to action with a good second, beaten half-a-length in a 1400m event on the Scarpside track here last month.

The filly contested a Class 5 handicap on that occasion and she is expected to have improved for that comeback run.

The pick is a versatile type with regard to tactics and a wide barrier shouldn’t be an issue having won when ridden cold in the past.

Jockey Holly Watson rides for this yard for just the second time this season and her mount looks value to salute for a stable who have been in the winners in recent days.

Magic Millions WA 3yo Trophy (Listed) Tips (Race 8)

While the gelding tasted defeat on his sole start last prep he has been in great form this time around going unbeaten in two starts.

The pick has jumped at odds-on for both of those victories including when winning by nearly three-and-a-half-lengths in a 1000m maiden at Ascot in December.

The son of Territories went on to complete a double when winning comfortably in the Magic Millions Plate over the same track and trip at the start of last month.

Simon Miller’s representative raced on a good 4 surface on each occasion with the form of his latest success boosted by a win for the second Supernatural back at Ascot ten days later.

The step up to 1200m here is unlikely to pose any issues with the selection having performed well when a close second over the distance on a wet track at Belmont on debut last August.

A wide barrier isn’t ideal however Chris Parnham is taken to negotiate that to steer his mount to victory.
