Bendigo Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 14 Oak Beach
While she lacked the change-up speed of the eventual winner, it was a really honest return from Oak Beach over 1400m at Sandown Lakeside on April 15, where the lightly raced daughter of Fiorente stuck on well in a fast-run race.
She was good through the line, suggesting a mile will be ideal second-up.
The four-year-old is a two-time winner over this trip, the latest at Moe in December, before rounding out that prep with a 2000m victory at Seymour.
It's a slight rise in class, although it's a bit of a nothing race all the same, and she's one of the few here with upside.
After the 3kg claim from Dakotah Keane, Oak Beach carries 5kg less from her fresh assignment.
Fitzsimmons Racing Handicap Tips (Race 6)
Bendigo Roughie - Race 6 No. 13 Sought After
The gelding hasn't shown the tactical speed to use a good draw anyway, and while he'll need favours in regard to the track pattern, he can find his feet early with galloping room, and this big Bendigo circuit could suit.
The four-year-old didn't have much go right in his Caulfield resumption on April 4.
His best Australian run was recorded at this track second-up in the spring, when getting home from third after overcoming some trouble.
That event was won by Harry's Yacht, who has since won three races in stronger company.
The son of Tivaci then contested The Meteorite, taken out by a flying Jigsaw, and was far from disgraced given the class rise, while, with 4kg less from his return effort, he's capable of measuring up in an open affair.
SEN Bendigo Guineas Tips (Race 8)
Bendigo Value Bet - Race 8 No. 15 The Volta
There is still a lot of improvement to come with The Volta.
A filly who showed a great turn-of-foot when recording a stylish second-up victory at Cranbourne last prep, before two runner-up finishes.
The latest of those was a second to Sass Appeal, which is hot form, with that galloper having bolted in with her next two starts, both at stakes level.
It was hard to miss her Mornington return, coming from the rear in a race won by Torsheen, who was then competitive at Group 2 level in Adelaide and also Group 3 placed behind Point Barrow in March, while Naifah, the runner-up, had stakes references from her last prep.
The rise to 1400m is ideal, and hopefully she can settle closer.
Ladbrokes Golden Mile Tips (Race 9)

It's a very tricky Golden Mile to decipher.
Most of these are at their ceiling, with the biggest watch on Zahrann on Australian debut for the Ciaron Maher stable, an entire with some terrific overseas form lines.
Those references suggest a mile may be a bit too sharp, but his lead-up work has been okay, and he could prove too classy.
Von Hauke is one of the leading contenders, yet a double-figure price is available for a galloper who arguably should've won this feature last year.
He just peaked late on a good Caulfield return on April 4, with a tick-over jump-out completed since, and a decent drought was broken last spring when taking out the Group 2 Crystal Mile on Cox Plate Day.

Bendigo Best Bet - Race 10 No. 12 You're Two Vain
Leading the market for the last race at Bendigo on Golden Mile Day is You're Two Vain, a lightly raced sprinter who impressed early with a four-peat to open his career.
That included a comfortable metro triumph in his first city look on November 19.
He then came to the end of that run with a plain performance on Ballarat Cup Day and was spelled as a result.
The son of Magnus returned with a slashing effort at Sandown on April 6, where he settled much further back than usual and made ground to just miss, recording the fastest closing sectionals of that entire program.
He has 5kg less in this second-up attempt, and from barrier four, he's the one to beat, provided Corey Parish can put him into the race early, as he has done multiple times previously.
