The Same Race Multi feature has been rolled out at Ladbrokes, a popular feature that was initially launched by Sportsbet.
The Same Race Multi allows you to pick up to four runners and have them to either win, run top two, top three or top four on a fixed price dividend.
How does the Same Race Multi feature work?
The Same Race Multi feature allows you to pick between two and four runners in a race, and select whether you want them to win, finish top two, top three or top four, with a fixed price dividend attached to each finishing position, that will combine for a fixed price of the bet.
For example, I want to choose Black Caviar to win the race, Hay List to run top three and Buffering to run top four. I have been offered odds of $3.40 for this result to happen.
If Black Caviar wins, Hay List runs in the top three and Buffering finishes in the top four, I will be paid out my $3.40 dividend.
Does this feature differ from regular exotic bets?
If you are taking three runners to run in the top three, it is the same as taking a boxed trifecta with three runners.
When you are taking runners to run in different spots, this dividend of the same race multi can pay more, especially if there is a short price favourite in the race, because exotics are based off pool sizes, whereas this is based off a fixed dividend.
Is there a minimum limit I can place on the Same Race Multi?
No, you can place as little as Ladbrokes allows on the Same Race Multi.
