Karolina Muchova vs Maria Sakkari Tips, Prediction & Live Stream - Muchova to improve to 5-0 over Sakkari in Doha
Karolina Muchova and Maria Sakkari face off in the Doha semifinal, with Muchova aiming for her third WTA 1000 final. Muchova has been in dominant form, winning all four matches between the pair previously and dropping just 19 games in four matches at this tournament. Sakkari, despite a strong performance defeating Iga Swiatek, has struggled against top-20 opponents with a 5-23 record since September 23. The recommendation is to back Muchova for a straight-set victory given her superior form and consistent play against Sakkari.

Karolina Muchova vs Maria Sakkari Tips, Prediction & Live Stream
Karolina Muchova looks to advance into her third WTA 1000 final when she faces the unseeded Maria Sakkari in the semi-finals on Friday in Doha.
Muchova has been in dominant form so far at the Qatar Open - she's dropped just 19 games in four straight sets victories, continuing her bid for a maiden WTA 1000 title. Meanwhile, Sakkari has delivered a resurgent week in Doha, with the former top 10 star conquering the likes of Jasmine Paolini and Iga Swiatek to make her first tour-level semi-final since Charleston 2024. It's a great opportunity for both players, especially with either Jelena Ostapenko or Victoria Mboko waiting in the final - who takes this chance?
I've got to lean with Muchova. She's won all four previous meetings between the pair and has been by fr the more reliable and steady player over the last few years. When fit, Muchova is top 10 any day of the week and she's playing at that kind of level at the moment. Sakkari deserves lots of credit for outlasting Swiatek, but the fact remains she's gone 5-23 vs top 20 players since September 23. I'm going to need to see more from the Greek, so taking Muchova in straights in a matchup that she's dominated.
Muchova vs Sakkari Stats & Trends

Karolina Muchova Form Analysis
- 2026 Record: 10-2
- WTA Doha Record: 10-3
- Current Ranking: No. 19
- Career-High Ranking: No. 8 (2023)
Muchova has played well to begin 2026 and she will be hoping to remain injury-free in order to break back into the top 10.
The Czech has won 10 of her 12 matches this season, advancing to the semi-finals of Brisbane and the fourth round of the Australian Open.
It's been a dominant week for Muchova in Doha this week, beating Jaqueline Cristian, Tereza Valentova, Karolina Pliskova and Anna Kalinskaya for the loss of just 19 games.
Muchova is hoping to reach her third WTA 1000 final after going down to Coco Gauff at Cincinnati 2023 and Beijing 2024.
Maria Sakkari Form Analysis
- 2026 Record: 7-3
- WTA Doha Record: 15-8
- Current Ranking: No. 52
- Career-High Ranking: No. 3 (2022)
Sakkari has struggled to reach the heights that took her to No. 3 in the world in 2022 over the last few years, but the early signs in 2026 are promising.
The Greek beat the likes of Naomi Osaka and Emma Raducanu at the United Cup to begin the season and was unfortunate to run into Mirra Andreeva in the second round of the Australian Open.
Not to be deterred, Sakkari has bounced back to some of her best form in Doha, defeating Zeynep Sonmez, Jasmine Paolini and Varvara Gracheva before a stirring comeback win over Iga Swiatek.
Sakkari became the first player to defeat Swiatek in a WTA 1000 outing after dropping the first set in 110 matches, prevailing 2-6 6-4 7-5 to reach the Doha semi-finals for the third time.
“I’m speechless because it’s been a while since I had a big win like today,” Sakkari said.
“When you drop in the rankings and you’re not playing good tennis, you start doubting yourself. And you’re thinking that you’re never going to beat those players again."
