New South Wales have reclaimed the State of Origin shield with a commanding 30-12 victory over Queensland in the 2026 series decider at Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday night. The win secured the Blues a 2-1 series triumph after bouncing back from defeat in Game 2.
The Blues laid the platform with a dominant first-half display before withstanding Queensland's fightback to seal the series. Nathan Cleary starred with two tries and a superb display in the halves, while Cameron Murray, Bradman Best and Hudson Young also crossed as New South Wales completed a memorable triumph.
Cleary produced one of the finest performances of his Origin career and was deservedly named Player of the Match, before also claiming the Wally Lewis Medal as Player of the Series following the Blues' series-clinching victory.
Queensland never stopped competing and managed tries through Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, Jojo Fifita and Selwyn Cobbo, but were unable to reel in the visitors after New South Wales built a decisive advantage in Brisbane.
