Hull KR vs Brisbane Broncos, World Club Challenge 2026 - Expert Prediction

A shock loss in their opening match of the season for Super League champions Hull KR will only help the punters, pushing the line to +13.5 which is a margin too big not to jump on against the NRL champs the Brisbane Broncos.

Hull KR vs Brisbane Broncos World Club Challenge 2026 FAQ’s

Look, comparing these two sides at this stage of the season is almost an impossible task. Hull KR have played one match, which they lost 19-18 to the newly promoted York, while Brisbane haven’t had a proper run at all this preseason.

We play the numbers game and look at some trends and they support a pretty tight contest, with the Super League champion winning the last two WCC plus the last two played in England. There has not been a blowout for either team in the last 4 matches played between the two champions, which could point to the gap being closed between the two leagues.

Hull KR lost their first match of the season which may have influenced this monster line of 13.5 points, so I am jumping on the Robins to cover, especially with the mindset that Brisbane have not played yet and have travelled to the opposite side of the earth.

There is a lot of hype around Mikey Lewis for Hull KR, with the five-eight leading his team in tries (19) and try assists (28) last season, with some chatter that he might make the move to Australia. The Robin will have his chance to shine so look for him to cross for a rare meat pie in a low-scoring contest.

The Super League Champion has covered a +13.5-point handicap in the last four matches on British soil.
The Super League Champion has won the last two World Club Challenges.
The last 4 World Club Challenge games played in England have had a score line less than the game total of 36.5 points.
Mikey Lewis scored 19 tries as Hull KR’s leading scorer last season.

Hull KR Form Form & Team News

Hull KR come into the World Club Challenge a little shell-shocked after losing to the newly promoted York 19-18 in their opening match of their title-defending season, getting stunned on their home pitch.

The positive for the Robins is that they are expected to see the return of 2023 Dream Team prop Tom Amone, who missed the match against York. While they also got a boost from their judiciary hearing with star five-eighth Mikey Lewis getting cleared for a trip in their opening Super League match of the season.

Brisbane Broncos Form & Team News

The Broncos have taken a full strength squad to England to take on Hull KR and appear to be taking the contest as a serious battle.

Brisbane have not played any preseason games in the lead up to their trip to Europe, so this will be the first full game simulation since winning the Grand Final 26-22 over the Melbourne Storm in October.

There is very little talk around the Brisbane camp leading up to the match, which means that everyone should be fit to play.
