Triple M Northam Maiden Tips (Race 4)

Northam Best Bet - Race 4 No. 10 Midnight Star

While she started as a $21 chance on debut, Midnight Star should've gone closer in that Bunbury attempt, where she was held-up at key stages before getting warm late.

There was depth to that June 11 event and with the rise in trip predicted to suit second-up, the Michael Grantham-trained filly was in the market over this track/trip.

Midnight Star was 1200m to 1600m and only found one better in Annie Warbucks, and that hard-fit winner had prior placings behind Mt Shirataku and Opportunistic (Belmont Guineas winner).

Grafton Electrics Handicap Tips (Race 6)

Northam Value Bet - Race 6 No. 5 Dashing Erika

This lightly raced four-year-old hasn't done much wrong, with a solid debut effort in December and she followed that up with a maiden victory over this distance.

Dashing Erika beat a smart Machine Gun Gracie in that breakthrough and the runner-up won four of her next five starts, which includes completing a WA Oaks and WATC Derby double.

The daughter of Smart Missile completed a double in this grade prior to a spell and while it was just an even return last month, 1100m proved too sharp in that fresh attempt.

Northam Next Best Bet - Race 7 No. 1 My Idol

He landed the cash for us second-up in a stronger race than this, with My Idol following that June 29 win up with a competitive performance via a Saturday 60+ at Pinjarra.

2200m is unknown territory, however, breeding supports the rise in distance on Thursday, as his dam is a half-sister to Zed, who is a noted producer of stayers.

Ready To Dream (dam) is also a younger half-sister to Zabene, who is a dual stakes winner at 2400m+, while Danewin (five-time Group 1 winner) is another from this strong family.
