Northam Tips June 26

Fait Accompli 1969 Northam Cup Winner Tips (Race 6)

Northam Value Bet - Race 6 No. 7 State Of Fury

It was a sound return behind a sharp Mt Shirataku, with State Of Fury covering ground throughout that May 28 event and she has no first-up form to her name.

The four-year-old also has no second-up wins and that's further merit to her June 11 performance, where she ran the fastest last 400m and 200m of a 1200m Class 3 at Bunbury.

State Of Fury has won her last two third-up attempts, which includes a comfortable 1500m success in spring, so the rise in distance is a positive here.

Northam Best Bet - Race 7 No. 3 Amarlime

William Pike takes back the reins on Amarlime and "The Wizard" has been aboard for both of her wins, which includes a 1400m triumph at Pinjarra on April 16.

The Adam Durrant-trained filly has recorded a hat-trick of seconds since that last victory and she was four weeks between runs last time out when dropping back in trip.

1200m worked against Amarlime, but it was still a strong chasing effort behind Lucky I Am (runner-up last Saturday) and the prior form through Rally The Troops has also been franked.

Northam Roughie - Race 8 No. 1 Couldhavebeen

It might pay to forgive the seventh-of-eleven on return at Northam, where the grey got back in a slowly run race over 1300m and that trip is short of his best.

His form at 1400m+ has been mostly consistent, especially last prep when breaking through third-up at Pinjarra and he was thereabouts either side of that win.

Couldhavebeen is more effective when ridden with intent in this distance range and now from gate one over 1600m, this is a more favourable set-up than the fresh task.
