The six-year-old returned to action with an impressive victory over 1000m at Murray Bridge in January.

Racing on a sound surface, the gelding came home two-and-a-half lengths clear of his eleven rivals after jumping from a wide barrier.

He contested a Benchmark 0-70 handicap that day before crossing the border for a race over this distance at Caulfield two weeks later.

The son of Churchill could finish only fifth in that event, beaten just over two lengths in a seven-runner contest.

After a short break, Declared returned to finish a narrow second at Murray Bridge three weeks ago, and with a strong record at this track and Brooke King claiming 3kg again, he looks well placed to win.

Morphettville Next Best Bet - Race 7 No. 3 Scandalize

There’s plenty to like about the New Zealand-bred, who resumed with a victory over 1200m at Murray Bridge early last month.

The gelding has since placed in the top four in all three subsequent runs on the Parks track here.

His most recent effort saw him finish runner-up over 1400m two weeks ago, beaten less than half a length.

He competed at Benchmark 0-64 level that day after settling midfield, having previously finished fourth over the same track and trip when ridden closer to the speed.

Versatile in his racing pattern and proven over further, Scandalize looks well placed to provide Jason Holder with another winner.

Morphettville Feature Bet - Race 9 No. 2 Mating Call

The daughter of Brazen Beau has already shown she can be competitive at a higher level than she meets here this preparation.

She contested three Group races earlier this season, including a fifth placing in the Group 1 Thousand Guineas at Caulfield in October.

That effort saw her beaten less than three-and-a-half lengths, having previously finished third in the Group 2 Edward Manifold Stakes at Flemington.

Both of those performances came over 1600m on good tracks, highlighting her credentials at this distance.

Following three trials, she resumed with a solid fourth over 1300m on the Parks track and is expected to improve back to 1600m, with Mating Call capable of giving her stable another win in the race.

Morphettville Value Bet - Race 10 No. 14 Casino Show Girl

The least experienced runner in the field has had just three starts to date.

She made an encouraging debut when finishing second in a 1500m maiden at Gawler, beaten less than a length on a wet track.

The mare returned to the same venue two weeks later and justified favouritism, leading throughout to score by six lengths on a Soft 5 surface.

However, she failed to make an impact when ridden more conservatively at Cranbourne in her next appearance.

After a break and a solid trial placing, Casino Show Girl returns here with Kayla Crowther aboard and looks value to produce a strong first-up performance.
