Making her turf debut, the mare was ridden from midfield when recording a fourth-place finish over 1100m, beaten just over one-and-a-half lengths.
That performance came first-up following a break, having debuted with a fifth on Devonport’s synthetic surface in July, while Toorak Lad finished one place behind her before breaking his maiden here nine days later.
While the daughter of Trust In A Gust is unproven on a wet surface under race conditions, she appeared to handle Soft ground when finishing fourth in a Longford trial just over a month ago.
Victorian apprentice Hayley Spitse takes the ride after recently enjoying success in Tasmania, and with the rise to 1200m looking suitable, The Red She Devil rates as value to break her maiden at the third attempt.
BWS Class 2 Handicap Tips (Race 4)
Launceston Value Bet - Race 4 No. 8 Jenni The Cat
Jenni The Cat recorded a first-up win last preparation when breaking her maiden over 1100m at Hobart in December.
A Class 1 success over 1400m at Launceston followed in January, with the mare ending last season with a good fourth in a 1400m Class 2 event here in March.
She stayed on nicely to be beaten less than two-and-a-half lengths on a Good surface that day, while her overall record shows two wins from six starts on Soft ground.
The expected wet surface works in her favour, while the drop back to 1100m should hold no fears given her maiden victory came over the same distance.
Although the lack of a recent trial is a slight concern, Jenni The Cat draws barrier two and the booking of Erica Byrne Burke catches the eye for her first start of the campaign, with the pair taken to make an impact at big odds.

Launceston Next Best Bet - Race 5 No. 3 Cool Heart
Cool Heart takes the eye after delivering a number of good efforts in defeat in recent months.
The seven-year-old has recorded top-four finishes in all four starts this preparation, including a narrow runner-up effort at Devonport last time.
Racing on the synthetic surface over 1350m, the mare was beaten just a nose in BM60 company after racing on the speed throughout.
The drop back to 1200m is no issue, while the daughter of Overshare is a proven wet-track performer with two previous wins on Soft ground.
Jessie Bazan’s representative is already a winner in this grade, with her most recent success coming at Launceston last October, and David Pires reunites with the mare after partnering her to that victory.
Mayhem In The Mounting Yard 20th November BM66 Handicap Tips (Race 7)
Launceston Best Bet - Race 7 No. 2 Merlin Beach
The New Zealand-bred son of Turn Me Loose ticks plenty of boxes here, including having demonstrated a liking for rain-affected conditions in the past.
Merlin Beach has two wins on Soft ground, with the most recent coming over 2400m at Hobart in August when taking out a BM66.
The five-year-old has performed well in two stronger races since, finishing fourth in an Open Handicap at Devonport before narrowly missing in a BM68 over 2150m at Launceston on September 25.
The drop back to 2000m should pose no issue given he also won over 1600m at Hobart earlier this year, while his latest performance showed he is racing in excellent order.
Anthony Darmanin has built an excellent association with Merlin Beach, combining for two wins, two seconds and a third from five rides, and from barrier one the pair should get every opportunity after racing on speed last time.
