Goulburn Value Bet - Race 2 No. 4 Beer Baron

Beer Baron has shown solid form in the past and placed in a metro event at Randwick over this trip in August last year.

The four-year-old has made just one start this prep, trailing in last of seven over 1000m at Canberra last month, although he is expected to have improved markedly for that effort after disappointing when beaten nearly seven-and-a-half lengths.

Neil Osborne’s gelding competed at Benchmark 60 level in that assignment and the drop back to a Benchmark 58 event is in his favour.

The son of Cosmic Force boasts an inside barrier here and the rise in distance should suit based on his previous form profile.

Billy Owen, aboard last time out, is again set to ride and, with Beer Baron having shown a liking for this venue previously, the pair look value to record a win.

Divalls Earthmoving Country Boosted Maiden Plate Tips (Race 3)

Goulburn Next Best Bet - Race 3 No. 7 Graynita

The daughter of Frosted showed ability last prep, most notably when finishing fourth in an eight-runner event at Mornington on debut.

The three-year-old was beaten just under three-and-a-half lengths contesting a 1200m assignment that day before being spelled following an eleventh at the same track two starts later.

Graynita changed stables subsequently and returned to action with a fair fourth-place finish at Albury last month on a Good 4 track.

The filly was beaten just over three lengths contesting an 1175m maiden and she is expected to have improved fitness-wise after heading into that assignment off a recognised trial.

Graynita draws an inside barrier here and the step up in distance is expected to suit, while Keagan Latham boasts a 38% strike-rate (4/13) riding for trainer Matthew Dale here this season.

Weddings & Functions @ GDRC Maiden Handicap Tips (Race 6)

Goulburn Favourite - Race 6 No. 1 First Assault

Trained by Keith Dryden & Libby Snowden, First Assault debuted with a solid fourth-place finish over 1200m at Nowra early last month.

The youngster was beaten just under four lengths contesting a seven-runner event on that occasion.

The son of Tagaloa took a step forward when runner-up after stepping up to 1500m at Albury subsequently.

First Assault was beaten by less than a length after jumping from barrier four that day and he has drawn a favourable alley here for Thursday’s assignment.

Jack Martin, aboard last time out, retains the ride and, with the gelding doing his best work late in that assignment, the extra distance is expected to suit as he looks to breakthrough for his first win.

Worklocker Goulburn Country Boosted Class 1 Handicap Tips (Race 7)

Goulburn Best Bet - Race 7 No. 4 Kirwans Bridge

The five-year-old has registered some good efforts in defeat earlier this prep, including two top-four finishes before his maiden victory

The most recent of those saw the gelding beaten just over a length when finishing fourth in a 1400m maiden at Gundagai last month.

Kirwans Bridge went on to breakthrough for his maiden victory with an impressive win when dropped back to 1300m at this venue last time out.

Racing on a Good 4 track, the son of Magnus raced prominently before putting more than four lengths on his rivals after jumping from barrier seven.

While Haylee Day’s representative has been allocated a wide draw here, he should prove capable of overcoming that, with Alysha Collett taking the ride for the first time.
