Adranos has finished in the top four in all five starts this campaign, including a one-length fourth at this track on his penultimate run.

The son of Capitalist filled that position over 1200m on good ground in similar company before running second when stretched to 1350m at Doomben two weeks later.

Tony Gollan’s gelding jumped well and looked the winner in that race before being run down late, with the form subsequently franked by multiple winners from that field.

With an inside barrier and solid recent efforts, he looks well placed to record his second career success.

Equine Benchmark 70 Handicap Tips (Race 3)

Eagle Farm Roughie - Race 3 No. 5 Negotiations

Negotiations has been holding form nicely this preparation, including a close second at Doomben three starts back.

The six-year-old was beaten under half-a-length when runner-up in a Benchmark 65 over 1110m that day and proved competitive again on wet ground in a Benchmark 70 at the same venue next time.

He settled near the rail in that effort before disappointing slightly when dropped to 1000m here last week, suggesting the return to 1200m suits.

The gelding usually settles midfield and, despite drawing wide, should find a spot in running without too much issue.

The booking of Ryan Maloney adds appeal, with the rider boasting an impressive 30% strike-rate (8/27) for the Ciaron Maher stable over the past year.

Eagle Farm Best Bet - Race 6 No. 8 Cavalry Man

Cavalry Man has been a model of consistency this preparation and broke through for a deserved win here last month.

The son of So You Think prevailed narrowly in a Class 3 Plate over 1810m on a good surface, before running another strong race when third at Doomben over 2000m.

That Doomben effort reads well, with several subsequent winners emerging from the race, and dropping slightly in trip appears ideal.

Lindsay Gough’s grey has drawn well in barrier two and typically races just off the speed, which should ensure a soft run throughout.

Apprentice Jace McMurray, who partnered him to victory previously, retains the ride and looks capable of guiding the gelding to another success.

XXXX Open Handicap Tips (Race 9)

Eagle Farm Value Bet - Race 9 No. 3 He’s Heaven

He’s Heaven caught the eye in Listed company when finishing fourth in the Weetwood Handicap (1200m) at Toowoomba in September.

The Zoustar gelding jumped from a wide barrier that day and wasn’t disgraced, beaten just over six lengths at long odds.

He returned to this track next time and scored impressively in a Class 6 Plate, leading throughout to win by nearly three-and-a-half lengths.

Although below par at Doomben last start, he now steps up to 1400m — a distance over which he has won twice previously — and that looks a positive.

Daniel Moor takes the ride, and from a wide draw he looks value to bounce back to form and make his presence felt late.
