Caulfield hosts a strong Saturday program on March 21, headlined by the Group 1 William Reid Stakes and supported by a deep card featuring quality sprinting and key three-year-old contests.

The meeting blends established Group performers with progressive types stepping through the grades, making it a competitive and form-rich program across all ten races.

Caulfield Tips March 21

Race 1 - 12:05PM Ladbrokes Odds Surge Handicap Tips (1200m)

6. Ka Ying Cheer steps up to BM78 metro level, which is harder, but the ex-Hong Kong galloper couldn’t be doing more since joining the Hayes yard with two strong wins to begin the campaign.

He ran the fastest last 600m, 400m and 200m of the February 5 program when resuming before looping the field again for the double. Carries 4kg less here and retains Michael Dee.

2. Sassy Boom didn't go on with her early promise, which included a Group 2 Caulfield win, but has still been competitive in stronger company, and her last jump-out win over Scenic Point, who is a talented Listed winner.

8. Wolfy found some trouble first-up at Flemington and has never had a strong fresh profile. He has a sharp turn-of-foot when conditions allow.

3. Dancing Storm got too far back in a leader-dominated Magic Millions event last start and can settle closer here, with the Jolly yard often dangerous in Melbourne.

Selections: 6-2-8-3.

Race 2 - 12:35PM Ascend Sales Trophies Handicap Tips (2400m)

4. Bluestone is still lightly raced for a five-year-old and has been consistent since his Mornington win last April, with his only top-three miss in that stretch coming last start at Sandown, where there were some excuses.

That February 25 race has already produced three subsequent winners, including the Adelaide Cup winner, and with that 2400m run now under the belt, he'll only strip fitter.

5. Cable Dancer found 1600m too sharp fresh before improving in the Stony Creek Cup, and the rise to this trip suits the Ararat Cup winner as he builds into his campaign.

9. Mr Bannock returned to winning form at Pakenham, beating an in-form Houdini in the process, although he did get 5.5kg off that rival.

10. Zibulon was aggressively placed into the Adelaide Cup second-up and had previously beaten Bluestone at Sandown, so his form lines hold up well.

Selections: 4-5-9-10.

Race 3 - 1:10PM Cirka Valley Pearl Tips (1200m)

2. Cyclotron was well backed on debut in Adelaide but struggled to find rhythm early over 1000m before working home well late behind a sharp winner.

The rise to 1200m looks ideal, and there should be natural improvement from that effort, especially given he found some trouble in running.

1. Rich On Bubbles is hard to knock, winning both starts since being gelded, including a dominant Magic Millions performance where he put the race away convincingly.

5. Myhro’s Ruler is a first starter who looks a straightforward on-speed type from jump-outs, winning both March heats in controlled fashion.

4. Blue And Gold is the outside of this small field but looks to have a motor based on his Cranbourne work.

Selections: 2-1-5-4.

Race 4 - 1:45PM Dynamic Print Group Alexandra Stakes Tips (1600m)

2. Getta Good Feeling is much shorter in the market this time after taking out the Inglis Sprint first-up at a big price in a strong performance over six furlongs.

She now steps to 1600m, a trip she has already proven effective at with a Group 2 win and Thousand Guineas placing, with 2500m proving too far in the VRC Oaks as a beaten favourite.

3. Classic Gem also brings Oaks form and was competitive at Group 3 level here before that feature. Her lead-up work suggests that she's improved.

1. Strictly Business was a stylish Oaks winner at just her fourth start, beating both Classic Gem and Getta Good Feeling in the process. May need this going off her jump-outs.

7. Just Kick resumes after a quieter spring but showed ability early and took out her latest jump-out at Pakenham.

Selections: 2-3-1-7.

Race 5 - 2:20PM Manhari Handicap Tips (1200m)

This is a strong BM96 with a mix of progressive types and runners looking to re-establish, with 4. King Zephyr one of the key chances despite the setup not being ideal.

He is generally better suited to bigger tracks but has class and a strong record, having not missed a placing aside from a wet-track defeat up the Flemington straight last autumn. His last jump-out behind two handy sprinters was encouraging.

5. Big Swinger is another looking to respond after failing to go on with it in the spring, but still placed in his first three outings that prep, and his win here last May was superb under the circumstances.

8. Verdoux is the in-form runner with two wins from as many starts this prep and drops in the weights, though this is a step up.

6. Give Me Space is a Group 3 winner who needed the run on stable debut at Cranbourne, although that was still a pass mark.

Selections: 4-5-8-6.

Race 6 - 2:55PM Orbit Logistics Don Casboult Classic Tips (1200m)

2. Point Barrow looked one of the more exciting young sprinters in the country last campaign, winning here stylishly in October before taking out the Group 3 Red Roses on Oaks Day and easily accounting for a handy Inkaruna.

She was a well-backed favourite first-up in the Oakleigh Plate and, while slightly disappointing, was not disgraced. She can bounce back, however has also found a hot fillies race here.

12. Bassett Babe is an undefeated filly from Adelaide who has been very impressive in both wins and has looked sharp again in a recent Flemington jump-out.

1. Ferivia brings strong form from her first campaign, including wins over both My Gladiola and Ole Dancer. She was spelled after the Thousand Guineas, with 1600m proving too far.

3. Alpha Sofie never settled as a short favourite in the Inglis Sprint and couldn't finish off as a result. She had won her prior four, including a slick fresh Caulfield triumph.

Selections: 2-12-1-3.

Race 7 - 3:30PM Packaging Needs Sunline Stakes Tips (1600m)

1. Treasurethe Moment faces a key test after being beaten favourite first-up in the Futurity Stakes, where she may have just peaked late, but was still disappointing given the odds-on starting quote.

While it's closing in on D-Day, a repeat of that Futurity Stakes rating would still win this, where she's back against her own sex under WFA conditions.

4. Too Darn Discreet is building toward a win after recording the fastest closing sectionals last start in the Matron Stakes and should be nearing peak fitness third-up.

3. Benagil gets blinkers back on and is suited back under WFA conditions. She briefly loomed as the winner second-up before fitness just gave out late.

2. Damask Rose continues to race consistently and was narrowly beaten last start, though she is becoming costly for punters.

Selections: 1-4-3-2.

Race 8 - 4:15PM Ladbrokes William Reid Stakes Tips (1200m)

1. Jimmysstar has been set for this race early in the campaign and has looked sharp in two Cranbourne jump-outs leading into this return, arriving off a consistent 2025 that netted three Group 1 victories and was brave without luck in The Everest.

He boasts an outstanding fresh record, with five wins and a second from seven first-up attempts, with his most recent return success being a slashing Oakleigh Plate victory.

5. Baraqiel is better suited away from the Flemington straight and his Lightning Stakes run had merit, with his record around bends particularly strong. He is unbeaten second-up, and this sets up well.

2. Jigsaw continues to improve with age, winning his last five, including a dominant VOBIS Gold Sprint performance last Saturday.

4. Angel Capital is hard to trust but does have ability, and after failing to settle in the run when heavily backed first-up, his Newmarket effort was an improvement.

Selections: 1-5-2-4.

Race 9 - 4:55PM DCE Alister Clark Stakes Tips (2000m)

1. Planet Red brings the strongest form lines into this, having split Autumn Boy and Observer via a Caulfield Guineas runner-up in spring, while he's been runner-up behind Observer twice this campaign.

The latest in the Australian Guineas was strong, a Group 1 he arguably wins from a kinder draw, and that form has been franked through Sixties. Can his brilliance stretch out to 2000m?

9. Roulette King is an exciting type who has won three straight, and there was arrogance to the latest at Sandown when further back than expected, yet he looped the field and saluted with ease. He's ready for ten furlongs now.

10. Mr Independent continues to improve with racing and looks suited stepping up in distance again after hitting a flat spot when winning over 1800m.

5. Savisanta is the blowout with blinkers on for the first time after two plain runs. He showed raw potential in his first prep and did breakthrough in February.

Selections: 1-9-10-5.

Race 10 - 5:35PM Caspers Pies and Pastries Handicap Tips (1400m)

2. Bullets High should have won the Echuca Cup last start when badly held up, and that followed an 1100m stable debut flop for the new yard, although that trip is too sharp, and he stays at seven furlongs for Saturday's third-up assignment.

While proven over further, his record at 1400m is strong, with that unlucky Echuca outing being his only time missing the top two at this journey, and at a huge price, he's worth an each-way play in the last.

7. Jackknife is a classy European import who may find 1400m on the short side but has moved well in his Cranbourne jump-outs, and Mark Zahra sticking from the latest is a good lead.

15. Enamorada was eye-catching in a recent jump-out behind Jimmysstar and brings race fitness, having covered ground fresh before a second-up win. The wide draw is the main query.

11. Placo has built a handy record and was a strong second-up winner in Adelaide. He's one of the main on-speed influences.

Selections: 2-7-15-11.
