Ascot Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 4 Holler Nuff

Holler Nuff is your typical progressive Bob Peters type who is working through these lower grades nicely.

He bounced off a good return to salute over 1200m here on March 21, and despite it being sharp placement straight to a mile third-up a fortnight ago, he recorded the double.

It was quite a soft victory in the end, especially after sustaining a wide and early move to make his bid.

He does go up 2.5kg, but he finds a race that is no harder here, and being only fourth-up, there could be more improvement to come.

With a good draw again and that recent 1600m under the belt, the extra 200m should not phase Holler Nuff.

Singapore Pools Trophy 2026 Tips (Race 5)

Ascot Best Bet - Race 5 No. 11 Rock ‘N’ The Jam

The first preparation was strong, with greenness on show on debut over 1200m before recording successive Saturday wins at 1400m and 1600m at Ascot.

Now third-up off a long spell, getting to a mile is an ideal progression for the lightly raced Rock ‘N’ The Jam.

It was a pass mark first-up on February 28, where class took him a long way despite being underdone over an unsuitable trip in a race that has produced three subsequent winners.

He was then five weeks between runs and closed off strongly over seven furlongs on April 4, recording the fastest closing sectionals of what was otherwise an on-speed dominated race.

There are more options here from a kinder draw, and with improvement expected, Rock ‘N’ The Jam gets his chance.

The Quokka Tips (Race 8)

Ascot Feature Bet - Race 8 No. 13 Luana Miss

It is a cracking edition of The Quokka, with a string of interstate raiders, and of the visitors, two are last-start Group 1 winners.

Arguably, that should be three, with Jedibeel an unlucky second last time out in The Galaxy.

Luana Miss looks the pick of the local sprinters, a mare looking to replicate what Jokers Grin did last year when coming from off a strong speed to salute.

With no luck after being held up for most of the straight from a tricky position, she was comfortably the pick of the lead-up runs in the Roma Cup on April 4.

Still lightly raced and with a good record, there was also merit to her only Group 1 attempt in the Winterbottom before a spell when racing keenly at the rear and unsuited by that race shape.

Schweppes Handicap Tips (Race 10)

Ascot Value Bet - Race 10 No. 9 Maalis Song

He was his own worst enemy throughout a three-run first campaign last year, and that was most evident in a Northam maiden loss as an odds-on favourite before a spell, a race he simply threw away.

The penny started to drop in his second campaign, however, opening spring with back-to-back victories.

The son of Your Song didn’t have much luck in transit when finding traffic third-up at Ascot before a spell.

Maalis Song resumed with an eye-catching win here on April 1, beating the talented Too Darn Stormy in the process.

While this is harder again, he still has plenty of upside and is at least an each-way chance at a double-figure quote.
