Tauson was in average form before arriving in Abu Dhabi, but this tournament has acted as a springboard to kickstart her year. With lots of high-profile withdrawals or eliminations, Tauson now has a great chance at a WTA 500 title after easing into the semi-finals without relinquishing a set. Bejlek meanwhile has put together a career-best week on tour, winning five matches from qualifying - all in straight sets - to reach the semi-finals.

Now that Tauson has sunk her teeth into this tournament, I don't think she slips up here. The Dane is at her best with lots of matches under her belt, allowing her to find rhythm for her thunderous groundstrokes. With momentum on her side and Bejlek heavily inexperienced in these situations, I'm backing Tauson to cover her -3.5 games line in victory.

Tauson had a career-best year in 2025, winning the Auckland title, reaching the final in Dubai and making the Montreal semi-finals.

However, the Dane hasn't won three matches in a row since that run to the final four in Canada in August - can she snap her drought in Abu Dhabi?

It wasn't a great Aussie summer for Tauson - she suffered first round defeats in Brisbane and Adelaide to Aliaksandra Sasnovich and Ajla Tomljanovic, but managed a solid third round run at the Australian Open, going down in three to Victoria Mboko.

Bejlek made a total of five WTA 125 or 100 semi-finals last year, which contributed to the Czech breaking into the top 100 for the first time.

Now, the 20 year-old gets an opportunity to feature in her first tour-level semi-final - at WTA 500 level no less.

Bejlek has emerged from nowhere to reach the semi-finals, winning five matches from qualifying in straight sets.

The Czech has been dismantling her opponents, dishing out three bagels over the last week - including a 6-0 6-2 demolition of Sonay Kartal in the quarter-finals in just 63 minutes.
