Switzerland and Bosnia & Herzegovina face off in a decisive World Cup Group B match with both teams tied at one point. Switzerland, who dominated Qatar but drew, are seen as the superior side with a more potent attack, propelled by Breel Embolo and Dan Ndoye. Bosnia, missing veteran striker Edin Dzeko and struggling in front of goal, are forecast to focus on defense after their draw with Canada. The key prediction is a 2-0 win for Switzerland, who are expected to be more ruthless and efficient in securing all three points.

Switzerland vs Bosnia & Herzegovina World Cup Tips, Prediction & Live Stream

With all four teams in Group B level on one point, a win here for Switzerland or Bosnia & Herzegovina could secure qualification into the knockout phase, with the two nations battling it out at SoFi Stadium on Thursday.

Switzerland were left to rue their missed chances, with a late lapse of concentration costing them as they drew 1-1 with a lacklustre Qatar side, while Bosnia were probably happy to hold on for a point as they drew by the same score with co-hosts Canada.

However, while both sides shared the spoils, Switzerland were the much more dangerous side and a little more class and efficiency in the final third would have seen them win with room to spare. Bosnia meanwhile were happy to sit back and cede possession and only scored from a set piece.

Switzerland are the far superior side in my eyes and they will be much more ruthless here. Breel Embolo scored from the penalty spot, meaning he's now found the back of the net seven times in his last 10 games for his country - he can score again here. I also like Dan Ndoye to have another big game - the Nottingham Forest winger had six shots against Qatar and is in red-hot form.

Bosnia only managed three shots on target against Canada and I don't see them troubling this Swiss defence, so a relatively comfortable 2-0 win for the Red Crosses appeals.
  • Switzerland are unbeaten in 15 of their last 17 group stage games at major tournaments
  • Switzerland are unbeaten in 14 of their last 15 games overall
  • Bosnia haven't won a game inside 90 minutes in their last six games
  • Breel Embolo has scored seven goals in his last 10 international appearances
  • Dan Ndoye has six shots vs Qatar, with two on target. He also had four shots, with three shots on target vs Australia in his last warm-up game

Switzerland vs Bosnia & Herzegovina Head To Head

This will be the first competitive meeting between the nations, with Bosnia coming away with a 2-0 victory in a 2016 friendly.

Switzerland Form Analysis

Switzerland failed to capitalise on their supreme dominance throughout the entire contest against Qatar and paid the ultimate price, conceding a 95th minute equaliser after Breel Embolo initially gave his side the lead via the penalty spot in the 20th minute.

Murat Yakin’s side racked up a whopping 26 shots, but squandered some golden opportunities and now have just one point after they were widely expected to have three.

With a trip to co-hosts Canada to come, the Swiss will be desperate to claim all three points here, or that final group game could become problematic.

Switzerland Team News

No injury concerns for the Swiss ahead of this clash.

Freiburg's Johan Manzambi was arguably the best player on the pitch when he came off the bench and should be in line for more minutes here.

Bosnia & Herzegovina Form Analysis

Not the most impressive opening performance from Bosnia, who were content to pick up a point and probably focus all of their attention on beating Qatar in the final group game, which would mean four points and likely progression into the knockout phase.

Jovo Lukic headed home in the first half to give his side the early advantage, but the Canadian pressure eventually took it's toll and Bosnia conceded an equaliser with 12 minutes remaining.

Despite a lack of attacking threat, especially without injured veteran Edin Dzeko, Bosnia remain tough to break down and are now unbeaten in their last six games.

Bosnia & Herzegovina Team News

Sead Kolasinac limped off late in the draw with Canada, with the defender a doubt for this clash.

RC Lens defender Nidal Celik has also been ruled out of the tournament and is replaced by Sturm Graz's Arjan Malic in the squad.
