Colombia face Ghana in the World Cup at Arrowhead Stadium, looking to reach the Round of 16 for the third consecutive tournament. Colombia, unbeaten in eight games and dominant in attack, are favored to win, especially with Ghana's defensive style and struggles against South American teams. Key Colombian players include Gustavo Puerta, who has been prolific in midfield. The article predicts a Colombia win to nil, expecting them to cover the shots line, and offers live stream details for fans.

Colombia vs Ghana World Cup Tips, Prediction & Live Stream

Colombia will be looking to make it through to the R16 for the third World Cup on the bounce when they square off against Ghana at Arrowhead Stadium on Friday.

Picked as World Cup dark horses ahead of the tournament, Colombia have emerged as a serious threat after finishing ahead of Portugal in their group and landing in a favourable section of the draw, with the winner of this game facing either Switzerland or Algeria for a spot in the quarter-finals, which would likely be against reigning champions Argentina.

Colombia have played some of the best football of any nation at this World Cup and I have no idea how their game with Portugal ended 0-0, with Los Cafeteros registering a whopping 24 shots and dominating the game against their more-fancied opponents.

Ghana meanwhile advanced to the R32 as one of the eight-best third-ranked nations after finishing behind England and Croatia in their group. Ghana proved tough to break down, but they only had 36 per cent of possession on average across their three group outings - only pragmatic Paraguay had lower.

Sitting back and content to let Colombia dominate possession should spell danger for the Ghanaians here. I'm backing Colombia to win this game to nil and to cover their total shots line of 15.5.

Gustava Puerta has been one of the unsung stars of Colombia's World Cup campaign, with the midfielder helping Racing Santander gain promotion to La Liga this past season. He's been firing off shots left, right and centre in his three appearances and is backed to hit the target here.
  • Colombia are unbeaten in their last eight games
  • Colombia have kept a clean sheet in three of their last four games
  • Ghana have lost six of their last nine games
  • Ghana have conceded 2+ goals vs Austria, Germany, Mexico and Croatia in 2026
  • Colombia have scored 3+ goals in seven of their last 10 wins
  • Colombia have registered 15, 20 & 24 shots in their three group games
  • Gustava Puerta has registered 10 total shots in three games, with one on target vs Portugal & two on target vs Congo

Colombia vs Ghana Head To Head

This will be the first meeting between the nations. Colombia have won four of their five World Cup games against African opposition, while Ghana have lost all three of their World Cup games against South American nations.

Colombia Form Analysis

Colombia have been one of the best teams to watch at this World Cup, firing off a total of 59 shots during the group stage and finishing ahead of Portugal to give themselves the best possible chance of doing some damage in the knockout phase.

Nestor Lorenzo's side opened their campaign with a 3-1 victory over Uzbekistan before prevailing 1-0 over a plucky DR Congo side.

Only needing a draw to finish top of the group, Colombia still dominated Portugal in their final group game, but somehow couldn't find a a way through despite registering 24 shots, with Luis Diaz, Gustavo Puerta and Luis Suarez all having four each.

Colombia have conceded just the one goal at this World Cup and will be hoping to click into gear with their finishing - watch out if they do.

Colombia Team News

No injury concerns for Colombia, with Diaz, Suarez and a resurgent James Rodriguez set to operate as a front three, with Jhon Arias and Puerta behind them in midfield.

Ghana Form Analysis

After shockingly missing out on the AFCON at the start of this year, Ghana did what they needed to do and qualified out of Group L behind England and Croatia.

A last-minute goal against Panama in their opening game set Ghana up nicely as they came away with a 1-0 victory, while Carlos Quieroz's side surprised with a 0-0 draw against England, which propelled them to four points - meaning a last group stage defeat to Croatia didn't matter.

Ghana will now be looking to reach the World Cup R16 for the first time since 2010.

Ghana Team News

Ghana will need more from Man City star Antoine Semenyo, who has scored just one goal in his last 27 internationals.

Lawrence Ati Zigi remains in doubt for Ghana, with Benjamin Asare a chance to start in goals.
