Host nation Morocco is set to face Cameroon in a thrilling AFCON quarter-final in Rabat. Morocco, the tournament favorite, has not won the continental cup since 1976. Enjoying a rich vein of form, they've won 19 of their last 21 matches and boast a formidable defense, conceding just twice in their past 14 games. Key player Brahim Diaz has been pivotal, scoring in all his AFCON appearances. Although Cameroon has dealt with off-field issues, they reached the quarter-finals by overcoming South Africa. A low-scoring win for Morocco is anticipated.

Morocco vs Cameroon Tips, Prediction & Live Stream

Host nation Morocco face five-time champions Cameroon in a blockbuster AFCON quarter-final showdown in Rabat on Friday night.

Morocco entered this AFCON as deserved favourites, but they haven't won the continental tournament since 1976 and last made it past the quarter-finals in 2004. However, currently enjoying a 'golden generation', the Atlas Lions come into this clash having won 19 of their last 21 games and conceding just twice in their last 14. Brahim Diaz has proven the main man for the hosts this tournament, scoring in his last four games, while Morocco's defence continues to prove very tough to break down. Meanwhile, Cameroon came into this tournament amid a host of off-field drama, but they've brushed the controversy aside to advance into the last eight, with teenager striker Christian Kofane enjoying a breakout competition.

I am tempted by the $7.50 odds on offer for Cameroon here, but I picked Morocco before the tournament - and although they haven't been at their best - I can't go against them now. The Atlas Lions are so strong defensively and I'm tipping them to grind out another low-scoring win.
  • Morocco have won 19 of their last 21 games
  • Morocco have conceded just two goals in their last 14 games
  • Three of Cameroon's last four defeats have been to nil
  • Morocco's last two wins over Cameroon have been to nil
  • Cameroon have conceded exactly one goal in five of their last eight games
  • Brahim Diaz has scored a goal in his last four games for Morocco

Morocco vs Cameroon Head To Head

Morocco have only beaten Cameroon twice in their history, but crucially those two victories came in the most recent meetings between the sides. This will be their first AFCON clash since 1992.

Morocco Form Analysis

It hasn't been a fully convincing tournament so far for Morocco, but they've got the job done and are now one win away from a first AFCON semi-final appearance in over two decades.

After finishing fourth at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and dominating qualifying for both the AFCON and 2026 World Cup, the Atlas Lions were fully expected to feature deep into the knockout phase of this competition.

But, as mentioned, Morocco haven't set the world on fire, beating Comoros 2-0 in their opening group game before settling for a 1-1 draw with Mali. Walid Regragui's responded with a 3-0 victory over Zambia before edging out Tanzania 1-0 in the R16.

Real Madrid winger Brahim Diaz has continued his fine form that saw him top score in qualifying, netting in all four of his appearances this AFCON.

Morocco Team News

Midfielder Azzedine Ounahi has been ruled out for the rest of the tournament with a leg injury.

Cameroon Form Analysis

Embroiled in off-field turmoil ahead of the tournament, Cameroon have a great job of putting any distractions to the side and dealing with the matter at hand - picking up a sixth AFCON trophy.

After failing to qualify for this year's World Cup, Cameroon are determined to secure a piece of silverware and maintain their reputation as one of the continent's strongest footballing nations.

The Indomitable Lions survived the 'Group of Death', beating Gabon 1-1, drawing 1-1 with Ivory Coast and edging out Mozambique 2-1 to secure their spot in the knockout phase.

Cameroon proceeded to topple South Africa 2-1 to reach the quarter-finals, with Bayer Leverkusen striker Christian Kofane continuing his excellent form by scoring his second goal in as many games.
