Locked together on 11 points heading into this fixture, Victory and Phoenix know that securing all three points here would see them finish the round inside the top six. It was a nightmare start to the season for Victory, but the pressure has eased on Arthur Diles as the side head into this clash following back-to-back wins over Adelaide and rivals Melbourne City. Meanwhile, Phoenix also come into this showdown with winning momentum, dispatching the Mariners 3-1 at home last week.

I feel like Victory are finally clicking and their late win over City in the Christmas Derby should give them even more confidence. Juan Mata is playing his best football since arriving in the A-League, with the former Man United and Chelsea playmaker creating the second-most chances out of anyone in the competition. Phoenix have only won one A-League match on the road since January 20, so this is obviously an uphill battle for the Kiwi club. I think Wellington are good for a goal, but Victory should have enough class to notch up a third win on the trot.
