Chris Waller has confirmed that unbeaten mare Autumn Glow will contest the Queen Elizabeth Stakes this preparation.

The announcement came via a Chris Waller Racing media release following discussions with Arrowfield Stud and Hermitage Thoroughbreds, with Waller stating, “it has been confirmed that Autumn Glow will contest the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes on Day 2 of The Championships.”

Autumn Glow will step out at Royal Randwick on April 11, where she will face her toughest test to date over 2000 metres at weight-for-age level.

Waller said the stable has been pleased with how the mare has come through her latest run, noting, “we’ve been very pleased with how she has come through her impressive George Ryder Stakes victory.”
He also highlighted key traits that have underpinned her unbeaten campaign, adding that both himself and James McDonald have been “particularly taken with her ability to relax in her races, along with her outstanding recovery post-run.”

Those attributes are expected to be crucial as Autumn Glow steps up in distance against elite opposition, with the Queen Elizabeth Stakes shaping as a defining test of her class.

The race will mark the final run of her current preparation, with Waller confirming, “we now look forward to her final run of the preparation on April 11.”
