Who stood out and who caught the eye across the opening weekend of the 2025 NRL semi-finals? Tony "Moley" Adams picks out his top five performers from the weekend action.
1. Nicho Hynes (Sharks)
The often criticised playmaker accused of going missing in big games, he scored a try and had a hand in two othersin the defeat of the Roosters - all class.
2. KL Iro (Sharks)
Powerhouse young centre scored his customary try at a vital time in the win over the Roosters and ran for a game-high 203 metres.
3. Nathan Cleary (Panthers)
In a glittering career, he may never have played a better finals game than what he produced in the big win over the Bulldogs. Scored tries, created tries and kicked impeccably.
4. Jacob Preston (Bulldogs)
Simply outstanding in a well beaten team against the Panthers - scored a try, set one up, made three line breaks and topped the tackle count.
5. Brian To'o (Panthers)
Looked very much the best winger in the world with two tries, a try assist and an intercept… as well as over 200 run matres.
