Now under the care of Tamworth trainer Holly Williams (ex-Tony Gollan), the four-year-old opened her account for the new yard with a victory at a non-tab program before contesting a BM58 here on August 7.

There was merit to that last effort, where Freedom To Roam drifted back early before making inroads in a slowly run affair (race-fastest last 800m/600m and 400m) and getting to 1400m should suit now.

His recent form doesn't read well, with a tenth-of-fourteen and a eleventh-of-thirteen recorded in a pair of Rosehill Highway attempts, but Friday's assignment is far more suitable for Cumnock.

Not only does the drop in grade favour the six-year-old, but coming back in trip to 1000m is another positive and he reunites with gun hoop Aaron Bullock, who was aboard via his last win via a similar event in May.

There were excuses after that Dubbo triumph, with Cumnock checked at a key stage when attempting a double via a BM82 and while 1200m-1400m stretched him, there was handy form lines over his prior two preps.
