Pinjarra Roughie - Race 1 No. 2 Heza Grunt

He showed some potential in three trials ahead of his August debut at Belmont, where Heza Grunt was fair in a fifth-place finish over 1400m and he then failed at start two before a spell.

Both starts have been on heavy ground, with the hulking four-year-old now first-up over a sprint trip, where he'll see a firm surface and the gelding just missed in a February 14 trial.

While five furlongs appears to be on the short side, there isn't much quality to this maiden field and with the wide draw to suit on the straight-course, Heza Grunt has each-way claims.

Pinjarra Best Bet - Race 4 No. 10 Dainty Rose

On debut, this Daniel Morton-trained filly was the only runner making any impression behind a dominant Nicely Played and that winner franked the form with a February 19 win at his next start.

There was market support for Dainty Rose ahead of her second appearance and she arguably should've won that Bunbury event, as she was in traffic at key stages before getting for third.

If you swap runs with the winner then she's the likely victor and with Pharoah Show (winner) narrowly beaten in a Class 1 at his next start, the form around Dainty Rose is stacking up okay.

Batteries N More Handicap Tips (Race 5)

Pinjarra Next Best Bet - Race 5 No. 4 Fantaxtic

This gelding caught the eye on debut in September, where he worked home from the rear for a midfield finish at Bunbury and trainer Mitchell Pateman tipped him out after that first outing.

Fantaxtic was in the betting when taking out a February 16 maiden and Jarrad Noske was rewarded for a positive ride, with the hoop happy to do some early when rolling forward.

The time of that recent Bunbury event rated well for the class/meeting and with Fantaxtic ready to eat up 1300m second-up, there's no reason why he can't go back-to-back.

Chaff City Handicap (Race 6)

Pinjarra Value Bet - Race 6 No. 2 Too Much Talk

At a double figure quote, there was some interest for Too Much Talk ahead of his Belmont resumption last month and he was returning off a lengthy lay-off via that 1300m attempt.

He travelled a little keenly in transit, however, there's no doubting that the gelding should've finished closer, as he was held-up and in restricted room before getting clear in the last 100m.

Too Much Talk recorded the second-fastest last 200m of that metro Class 3 contest and while he's now at Class 5 level for Thursday's provincial assignment, this is a much weaker race.
