Cairns were on a tear in round 18 beating both the Illawarra Hawks and Perth Wildcats, however, round 19 was a different story, unable to find the mark against New Zealand in the bottom of the table clash, losing to the Breakers 99-92.
Despite their starting point guard Taran Armstrong returning to the lineup the Taipans offence misfired, shooting just 46.5% from the field and 34.4% from the three point line. Cairns had been strong in the paint during their winning run but were dominated in the area 54-34 and had no answer to the size of the Breakers who out rebounded them 41-27.
