Victoria Mboko vs Lois Boisson Tips, Prediction & Live Stream - Mboko set for first clay win of 2026
Victoria Mboko faces Lois Boisson in the Strasbourg Open second round. Top seed Mboko, recently recovered from illness, is favored due to her exceptional record against players outside the top 20 and strong clay form, losing only to top 10 players last year. Boisson, a French Open semi-finalist in 2025, returns after injury and relies on every win to retain her ranking. This first career meeting is tipped in Mboko's favor, likely in straight sets. Victoria Mboko vs Lois Boisson Tips, Prediction & Live Stream
Top seed Victoria Mboko launches her Strasbourg Open campaign on Tuesday when she comes up against last year's Roland Garros semi-finalist Lois Boisson in the second round.
Both players are coming back from recent setbacks. Mboko is recovering from illness that contributed to an early loss in Madrid and withdrawal from Rome, while Boisson's was much more serious, with the Frenchwoman only playing three matches so far in 2026 after dealing with arm and leg injuries suffered at the end of last year.
Boisson also underwent ACL surgery in 2024 before returning with the most stunning of comebacks, reaching the French Open semi-finals as a wildcard ranked outside the top 350. The 23-year-old is under huge pressure to defend those ranking points and remain in the top 100, so every win she can get in Strasbourg is vital.
It's an intriguing matchup, but under the assumption that Mboko is fully recovered, I can't go aganist the World No. 9. She was dominating players outside the top 20 before illness and it took top 10 players to beat her on clay last year. Mboko to prevail in straights is the play.

Mboko vs Boisson Head To Head
This will be the first career meeting between the pair.
Victoria Mboko Form Analysis
- 2026 Record: 19-7
- WTA Strasbourg Record: 0-0
- Current Ranking: No. 9
- Career-High Ranking: No. 9 (March 2026)
Mboko has experienced a whirlwind rise into the world's top 10 over the last 12 months and will be hoping to get back to the high level she was consistently showcasing before illness struck her down in Madrid.
The 19-year-old has gone consistently deep at the big tournaments, finishing runner-up in Adelaide and Doha, along with reaching the quarter-finals in Indian Wells and Miami and fourth round finish at the Australian Open.
It took either top 10 players or Karolina Muchova to knock Mboko out of all those tournaments, demonstrating the quality it takes to beat her at the moment.
Like a few players, Mboko was hit by a gastrointestinal illness in Madrid as she went down to Caty McNally and subsequently pulled out of Rome.
Lois Boisson Form Analysis
- 2026 Record: 1-2
- WTA Strasbourg Record: 0-0
- Current Ranking: No. 50
- Career-High Ranking: No. 34 (Feb 2026)
Boisson shocked the tennis world with her historic run as a No. 360-ranked wildcard into the French Open semi-finals last year, conquering top 10 stars Jess Pegula and Mirra Andreeva along the way.
The 23-year-old went on to reach the Hamburg final and was on the verge of cracking the top 30 before arm and leg injuries sustained at the end of last year delayed her start to 2026.
Boisson only returned to action a month ago, losing her opening matches in Madrid and Rome to Peyton Stearns and Katerina Siniakova respectively, while she also lost in R1 of the Parma 125 event to Dominika Salkova.
The Frenchwoman returned to the winners circle in her Strasbourg opener, taking out Xin Yu Wang 6-3 7-6. Solid victory, but it must be noted that Wang hasn't beaten a top 100 player since February.
