Iga Swiatek vs Jelena Ostapenko Tips, Prediction & Live Stream
World No. 2 Iga Swiatek will have to do something she's never done before in order to reach a fourth straight Qatar Open final in Doha on Friday - and that's defeat Jelena Ostapenko.

In one of the most surprising current H2Hs on tour, Ostapenko has defeated Swiatek in all four of their previous meetings - and the Latvian is once again in swashbuckling form heading into this contest. Ostapenko had barely won a match since making the Wimbledon quarter-finals last year, but she's surged into the Doha semis without dropping a set and is primed for a fifth upset over Swiatek at great value here. Swiatek does deserve favouritism for her incredible 16-1 lifetime record in Doha, but Ostapenko offers value at the line, H2H and 2-1 set betting.
Head To Head
As mentioned, Ostapenko leads 4-0 - but they haven't played since 2023. Ostapenko has won the last two meetings in three sets.
Iga Swiatek Form
Swiatek is continuing her pursuit for a first title since Roland Garros last year and what better tournament to do it than Doha, where she's taken home the silverware in the last three seasons.
The Pole has started the year strongly, leading her country to the United Cup final and making the Australian Open semi-finals, where she dismantled everyone in her path before blowing a match point against eventual champion Madison Keys.
Swiatek returned to action this week in Doha and has recorded three good victories, crushing Maria Sakkari in straights, edging out nemesis Linda Noskova in three and posting a 6-2 7-5 victory over Elena Rybakina in the quarter-finals, recovering from 2-4 down in the second set.
Jelena Ostapenko Form
Ostapenko runs hot and cold and she was freezing heading into this tournament, registering a 2-9 record since making the Wimbledon quarter-finals last year.
However, the Latvian has flicked the switch in Doha, bulldozing her way into the semi-finals without relinquishing a single set.
Ostapenko has defeated Aoi Ito, Liudmila Samsonova, Jasmine Paolini (her first top 10 scalp since 2023) and Ons Jabeur on her way to the final four. The 27-year-old is competing in her third Doha semi-final after reaching the title match as an 18-year-old nine years ago.

Verdict
Can't back Swiatek at $1.28 odds when Ostapenko leads the H2H 4-0.
I do think Swiatek probably has the edge in these conditions, but I'm confident Ostapenko can cover a +4.5 games line - and then I'm happy to sprinkle smaller units on the Latvian outright and 2-1 in set betting, which has landed in the last two previous meetings.
