Iga Swiatek vs Barbora Krejcikova Tips, Prediction & Live Stream
World No. 2 Iga Swiatek aims for her ninth semi-final of the season when she comes up against two-time major champion Barbora Krejcikova in the Korea Open quarter-finals in Seoul on Friday.

Swiatek has turned her season around over the last few months and now has a chance to possibly usurp Aryna Sabalenka as the World No. 1 if she can put together a fruitful Asian swing. The Pole has only won one career title in East Asia throughout her career (2023 Beijing), so she will have to raise her level from previous outings in this part of the world. Meanwhile, Krejcikova is continuing her stunning form, producing yet another comeback in saving three match points to defeat Emma Raducanu in the previous round.
Krejcikova has beaten Swiatek twice before, taking at least one set in the last four meetings. The Czech obviously has the tools to do damage in this matchup, but my concern here is that her win over Raducanu finished around midnight and now she's back without a rest day and a 5pm start. I still think Krejcikova can test Swiatek, but backing the top seed to finish strongly and close out the win.
Head To Head
Swiatek leads 3-2. Krejcikova has won two of the last three meetings, but it was Swiatek who emerged a 4-6 7-5 6-2 winner at the WTA Finals in their most-recent clash at the end of 2024.
Iga Swiatek Form
Swiatek has compiled a 54-13 record on the season, getting back to some of her best tennis over the last few months to haul herself back up to No. 2 in the world.
Earlier in the season it was looking quite possible that Swiatek could tumble out of the top 10 after she went 12 months without making a final.
However, that all changed at Wimbledon, where Swiatek surged to her first title on the lawns before also taking out the Cincinnati silverware.
Swiatek went down in the US Open quarter-finals to Amanda Anisimova, but returned to action with a no-nonsense 6-3 6-2 win over Sorana Cirstea in her Seoul opener, improving to 6-0 over the Romanian.
Barbora Krejcikova Form
It's been a remarkable return from injury for Krejcikova, who only began her season in mid-May due to a back issue.
It took a while for Krejcikova to regain her mojo, but she's well and truly making up for lost time, swiftly rising back into the world's top 40 after making the fourth round of Cincinnati and the quarter-finals of the US Open.
That run to the last eight in New York featured a stunning comeback victory over Taylor Townsend in which the Czech saved a stunning eight match points in the R16.
Krejcikova was at it again in her Seoul second round, saving three match points against Emma Raducanu, snatching a marathon second set tiebreak before running away with a 4-6, 7-6 (10), 6-1 victory.

Verdict
Krejcikova is in form and has a proven ability to trouble Swiatek. However, she finished late last night and has a very short turnaround here.
The Czech can make a contest of this match to start, but I expect Swiatek to finish the stronger of the pair and come away with the win.
