Collins spent last week as a benchwarmer during the United States' victory in the United Cup, but still managed to ruffle a few feather as she re-ignited her feud with Iga Swiatek, while Jabeur got some much-needed wins and confidence with a quarter-final run in Brisbane.

Collins leads 3-1, including a most-recent 6-3 1-6 6-3 victory in the R32 of Charleston in 2024.

Absolutely no form whatsoever, but Collins has proven time and time again she doesn't really need matches under her belt to find some of her best tennis.

Collins, who was supposed to retire at the end of 2024 before having a change of heart, hasn't won a match since the Olympics, but the was struggling with her fitness for most of that period.

The American put together some stunning results before Paris that catapulted her back inside the top 10, including winning big titles in Miami and Charleston, along with reaching the semi-finals in Rome.

Collins was also on the verge of beating Iga Swiatek in the quarter-finals of the Olympics before being forced to retire in the final set with injury - and there was certainly no love lost between the pair when their paths crossed again in the United Cup last week in Sydney.

Jabeur had been struggling with a shoulder injury and hadn't won a match since Wimbledon or played since Toronto as she launched her 2025 season in Brisbane.

However, Jabeur won more matches last week than she did on hardcourt throughout the entirety of 2024, when she registered a 2-6 record on the surface.

The Tunisian trailblazer defeated the likes of Saisai Zheng, Ekaterina Alexandrova and Elina Avanesyan before falling to teenage sensation Mirra Andreeva in the quarter-finals.

Jabeur will be hoping to continue that momentum into Adelaide, where she is a former semi-finalist.

Intriguing match, mostly to see where Collins is at to start 2025, but also whether Jabeur can build on her promising start to the season.

Not concerned with Collins' lack of matches, because if she's physically fit, she can beat anyone - including Jabeur three times previously. I'm backing Over 21.5 total games here, while Collins looks decent value as the slight underdog.
