Head To Head
The Wanderers won the only previous meeting between the teams this season, claiming a 4-1 victory at home.
The Jets have won just one of the last 11 meetings, although six of those have been draws.
Newcastle Jets Form
Newcastle Jets went on a seven-game unbeaten run but have now lost three of their last five matches.
A heavy 6-2 defeat and a 2-1 loss to Wellington Phoenix both came at home, while last weekend the Jets went down 3-2 away at Sydney.
In between has been an entertaining 3-3 draw away at Macarthur and a 6-0 thrashing of rivals Central Coast Mariners at home.
Newcastle Jets Team News
Young forward Oscar Fryer is sidelined with a knee injury.
Western Sydney Wanderers Form
The Wanderers still need a point to officially be in the finals, although with a 17-better goal difference than Adelaide United they are all but guaranteed to finish in the top six.
A 2-2 draw with Melbourne City last week extended Western Sydney's unbeaten streak to 10 games. That includes five wins in the last eight games.
The Wanderers can still finish in the top two but would need to win both remaining games to stand a chance of leapfrogging Melbourne City and Western United who are immediately above them.
Western Sydney Wanderers Team News
Jeong Tae-Wook and Dylan Scicluna are both out injured.
Verdict
The Wanderers' place in the finals is all but secured and a point on Saturday will make it official. I'm backing them to do it in style and keep Newcastle Jets rooted to the bottom of the ladder in the process.
