Caulfield takes centre stage for Blue Diamond Stakes Day 2026, headlined by Victoria’s premier juvenile showpiece on Saturday, February 21 with a world-class program featuring three Group 1 contests.

The celebrated meeting is anchored by the $2 million Blue Diamond Stakes, while the Futurity Stakes and Oakleigh Plate add elite weight-for-age depth and high-speed sprinting class to one of the most anticipated cards of the autumn.

Below, the fields and barrier draws are confirmed for the Blue Diamond Stakes, Futurity Stakes, and Oakleigh Plate — a trio of Group 1 features that showcase precocious two-year-old talent, established stars, and explosive sprinters — while a link to all lineups for the full race program is also included.

Futurity Stakes

Treasurethe Moment (barrier 6) was a brilliant first-up winner last campaign when taking out the Group 1 Memsie Stakes over 1400m at Caulfield, the same course and distance as the Futurity Stakes.

That victory came against a high-class field featuring Mr Brightside, Buckaroo, Fangirl and Antino, and although her preparation was slightly interrupted by a minor setback, the four-year-old still placed in three of her next four starts.

Feroce (barrier 2) resumed with a runner-up finish in the Kevin Heffernan Stakes and brings a strong second-up record, highlighted by a Group 1 Australian Guineas triumph in March 2025.

He also placed second-up in the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes last spring, underscoring his consistency at the elite level.

Pericles (barrier 4) is often at his most effective early in a campaign with six of his seven wins coming first or second-up, while Evaporate (barrier 7) profiles as a progressive four-year-old with three Group wins and a consistent record since his juvenile season.

Blue Diamond Stakes

Big Sky (barrier 5) has made a sharp impression in two 1000m starts, winning decisively at Flemington before stepping up to land the Group 3 Chairman’s Stakes by three lengths.

The son of Bivouac has shown natural speed in both outings and shapes as a key contender, while stablemate Guest House (barrier 3) won on debut at Cranbourne before finishing runner-up in the colts and geldings Blue Diamond Prelude at Caulfield.

That Prelude was taken out by Closer To Free at his first race start, with the February 7 performance run more than two lengths faster than the fillies’ division.

The fillies’ Prelude was claimed by Streisand (barrier 12), while Unit Five (barrier 11) remains unbeaten in two Magic Millions appearances, including victory in the 2YO Classic on the Gold Coast.

Alibaba (barrier 17) earned a late entry after winning the colts and geldings Blue Diamond Preview and placing in both the Listed Merson Cooper and Inglis Millennium, while Eternal Warrior (barrier 16) resumed with a solid third in the Prelude as the pick of the off-speed runners.

Oakleigh Plate

The last of three Group 1 features on Blue Diamond Stakes Day, the Oakleigh Plate is an 1100m sprint run under handicap conditions and regularly attracts a deep, high-pressure field.

Point Barrow (barrier 10) profiles as an emerging talent with four wins and two seconds from six starts, closing her spring campaign with consecutive victories including a dominant straight-track success at Flemington.

The Freedman-trained filly had earlier impressed with a stylish win on Caulfield Guineas Day and now carries just 50kg in this year’s renewal.

Geegees Mistruth (barrier 1) brings a strong Tasmanian record as a four-time stakes winner and has placed in four of six runs at Caulfield, including a first-up Listed third on January 26.

Hedged (barrier 5) was an unlucky third in the Group 2 Rubiton Stakes after winning two of three summer runs, that race taken out by Oak Hill (barrier 11), while Tropicus (barrier 9) resumes after earlier winning over this course and distance and later finishing runner-up to Giga Kick before that rival’s Group 1 Champions Sprint triumph.
