After an amazing run of four straight titles, the Panthers face their greatest test to forging a long-lasting dynasty in 2025. Moley's predictions are in.
Not only have the Panthers lost two of the key men in Jarome Luai (Wests Tigers) and James Fisher-Harris (Warriors), but their fortress at the foot of the Blue Mountains is being rebuilt and they will be without a true home ground this year.
NRL 2025 Predictions
The Melbourne Storm, who lost last year’s grand final to the Panthers, are the bookies’ new favourites and they are also my tip to take out the title.
In Craig Bellamy, they have the best coach in the league and a strong, well-balanced roster capable of going all the way.
No club works harder than the Storm during the week and that’s why they have been the envy of the league for the past two decades.
Stand by for a changing of the guard in 2025 with so much activity in the off season transfer market.
The Roosters have only missed the finals once in the last 10 years but have lost six world-class players - and replaced none of them.
I like the Titans at good odds to make the finals. They have plenty of pace and class and a smart coach in the Old Fox Des Hasler.
The Broncos are certain to come back into the top eight after a dismal year in 2024 under tough coach Michael Maguire.
Wests Tigers have had the best build-up of any team in the game and the addition of Luai, Terrell May and others gives them a team capable of shedding the wooden spoon after three long years.
If I had to pick a wooden spooner at this early stage, I’d go the Dragons - they have lost their best two players in Ben Hunt (Broncos) and Zac Lomax (Eels) and that is a lot of their strike power gone.
