Pakenham Tips June 26

Sportsbet Bet with Mates Maiden Plate Tips (Race 2)

Pakenham Synthetic Value Bet - Race 2 No. 7 Navy Street

The son of Rich Enuff has plenty of experience with seven starts to his name and he ticks plenty of boxes in this 1200m maiden.

The four-year-old has shaped as if a win might not be far away in his two most recent starts.

The first of those saw the gelding finish strongly to be beaten less than a length into third in a race over this track and trip on his synthetics debut at the end of last month.

The runner-up that day has broken his maiden at this venue since, while the pick went on to place second returning to turf in a 1000m contest at Casterton just over two weeks ago.

The gelding is expected to be ridden from mid-division here and he has a fair barrier in seven ahead of this contest and looks value to break his maiden at the eighth attempt.

Pakenham Synthetic Next Best Bet - Race 6 No. 3 Over Boost

Trained by Paul Gorman the gelding has shown a liking for this track in the past winning half of his four starts here.

Those victories include an impressive near four-length triumph in a course and distance Restricted 58 handicap May 7.

Freshened since that effort the pick jumped at big odds before delivering a respectable fifth when upped to Benchmark 70 level returning to the turf at Mornington subsequently.

The return to this venue is in his favour while given he has been ridden from off the pace in his two most recent starts a wide alley shouldn’t prove too much of an inconvenience.

Tiffani Chapman gets on well with the five-year-old and having steered him to victory at Bairnsdale in March they can team up for a second victory together.

Pakenham Synthetic Roughie - Race 7 No. 1 Governor Landy

The New Zealand-bred veteran galloper has delivered promising efforts in two starts since finishing down the field over 1000m at Moe on his return to action.

The picks' jockey here Dakotah Keane reported that she thought the gelding would appreciate further when two lengths fifth in a 1200m event on Ballarat’s synthetic track last month.

That effort came at Benchmark 64 level and the selection again raced at that level when fourth of 12 over 1100m on a heavy 8 turf track at Moe last time out.

The son of Reliable Man gets a step back up to 1400m here while the drop to this Benchmark 58 level for the first time since January last year is a further positive.

Dakotah Keane’s three-kilogram should aid the gelding here and jumping from an inside alley, he may prove up to springing a surprise.

Pakenham Synthetic Best Bet - Race 9 No. 2 Our Redente

The selection has shown he handles this track in the past when debuting with a third-place finish over 1100m last October.

Since then the gelding has registered four victories most recently on a soft 7 surface in a Benchmark 78 event over this trip at Ballarat in November.

While the four-year-old has failed to score in four starts this time around, notably, he has been racing in much stronger events including when sixth over 1600m at Sandown Hillside last start.

Racing at Benchmark 78 level in a metro event that day the pick caught the eye in finishing strongly from off the pace to be beaten less than two lengths on a soft 7 track.

Promising apprentice Emily Poznan’s three-kilogram claim is a help here and the son of Redente is taken to salute in the finale.
