Tralee showed up well when finishing third in her first two starts this preparation, including over 1280m at Muswellbrook.

The mare was beaten less than a length on Good ground that day, having previously encountered similar conditions when resuming at Tamworth.

She can be forgiven her subsequent Tamworth defeat after meeting trouble in running and finishing ninth-of-10 without being fully tested once clear.

The four-year-old has had fewer opportunities than most of her rivals and remains open to improvement on just her second attempt at this distance.

Melissa Dennett’s mare should have no major issues with the wide draw given her racing style and looks capable of breaking through.

Moree Best Bet - Race 4 No. 1 Referees

A maiden winner at Grafton in February, Referees went on to finish in the top three at Class 1 level in all three subsequent starts that preparation.

The five-year-old was spelled after going down by just under half-a-length over 1420m at Grafton at the end of March, producing a big effort from a double-figure barrier.

Another wide draw poses few concerns given his racing style, while he arrives fit after resuming with a runner-up finish at Murwillumbah last month.

The son of Impending showed he handles wet ground on that Soft 5 surface, with Archie McColm retaining the ride after partnering him there.

Referees should take improvement from that first-up effort and looks capable of conceding weight to his rivals in this Class 1.

Moree And District Services Club Benchmark 58 Showcase Handicap Tips (Race 6)

Moree Value Bet - Race 6 No. 2 Tiger Town

Tiger Town has won first-up in the past and came within a narrow margin of causing a $21 upset at Newcastle when resuming last preparation.

The gelding ended that campaign with three consecutive heavy defeats, beating just one rival home across those appearances, but the break may have done him plenty of good.

Todd Smith’s six-year-old has several positives here, including the forecast Soft ground, which has played host to all four of his career wins.

The drop to Benchmark 58 company also suits, while his tendency to begin slowly means Liam Branch is likely to ride him with patience from barrier seven.

At a value price and back in a suitable grade, Tiger Town has enough in his favour to make an impact fresh.

Moree Next Best Bet - Race 8 No. 1 Inazuma Boy

Inazuma Boy has built an impressive record of six wins from 13 starts, including three victories in succession during his previous preparation.

That winning streak culminated in a dominant Benchmark 82 success over 1100m at Dubbo in March before he was spelled following a third on Soft ground at Scone two weeks later.

The son of Kobayashi handles Soft going, although any upgrade would be a further positive given all six of his wins have come on Good tracks.

While beaten into fourth when resuming at Scone last preparation, he was less than a length from the winner and has scored first-up in the past.

After finishing fourth in a Muswellbrook trial last month, Inazuma Boy looks capable of overcoming the wide draw and making it three wins from as many starts under Mikayla Weir.
