She was beaten just under four lengths over 1000m on heavy ground in one of those efforts, but improvement has been evident since returning this preparation.

The three-year-old resumed with a narrow second on a soft surface over 800m at Kilcoy, suggesting she had come back in good order.

That performance was franked two weeks later when stepping up to 1000m at Ballina, where she went one better on good ground.

An inside barrier and the booking of Yvette Lewis again are positives, and she looks capable of handling the rise in grade to deliver a second career win.

Grafton Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 5 Amaya’s Secret

Stephen Lee’s mare has shown a strong affinity for this venue, recording two wins and a second placing from five appearances here.

The daughter of Territories broke through for her maiden victory over 1015m at this track in September 2024, scoring by nearly three lengths on a sound surface.

She backed that up with another win next start over the same course on heavy ground, confirming her versatility under different conditions.

While she has made just three starts since that October victory, each effort has been sound, including a solid third on a wet track at Ballina.

Freshened since an Ipswich run that has since proven strong form, she returns to a favoured venue and is taken to record another win.

Andrew Graham Electrical Benchmark 58 Handicap Tips (Race 6)


Grafton Roughie - Race 6 No. 10 Mammoth Mountain

The seven-year-old has been competitive at this Benchmark 58 level, including two solid performances at this venue in September.

He was beaten less than a length when finishing fifth over 2220m on a sound surface before backing that up with a third over 2200m eight days later.

Although winless in four subsequent starts, the gelding has placed in three of those, including a narrow defeat over 1612m at Coffs Harbour.

That effort highlighted his versatility, contesting shorter trips without being far away at the finish.

Freshened since an Inverell Benchmark 66 run, he may be capable of producing a surprise back at a more suitable grade.

Grafton Best Bet - Race 7 No. 6 Next Pay Run

The four-year-old has been in consistent form this preparation, including a Class 2 victory over 1410m at this venue in October.

After finishing last in a metropolitan event at Newcastle, the mare rebounded with three top-four performances in succession.

She was beaten less than a length into fourth over 1620m here in late November in a race that has since produced multiple winners.

Dropping in grade next start, she scored comfortably at Murwillumbah before placing third in the 1400m Inverell Cup on good ground.

With a strong record at the distance and an inside draw, she looks well placed to add another win.
