Gosford Favourite - Race 1 No. 1 The Impeckable

This a terrible maiden and while The Impeckable is stepping up from a country contest, it isn't harder as a 'Provincial' only lineup and he's much better suited up to a mile after that 1300m tilt.

Not much went right in that Taree outing, where he was slow away and on a tight turning circuit, he sustained a long run to record the fastest last 800m/600m/400m and 200m of the race.

Being out of a half-sister to a Caulfield Cup winner (Southern Speed), the gelding is bred to get over ground and trainer Sara Ryan is in hot form, with 12 winners from her last 35 starters.

Gosford Next Best Bet - Race 5 No. 4 Tears For Fears

Although she was never in contention, her return effort on December 9 was a strong one and the sectionals backed it up, as she ran the second fastest 800m/600m/400m and 200m of the meeting.

Tears For Fears should find this much easier, dropping back in grade from a metro BM72 to a provincial Class 1 and from an inside draw over an extra 100m, Jay Ford can be more positive.

At start two on a Soft 5, the daughter of Invader broke her maiden at Gosford in winter and there was plenty of merit to that victory, as she sustained a wide run throughout from off the speed.

Gosford Value Bet - Race 6 No. 11 Monte Supreme

The Robert & Luke Price yard look to have a handy filly on their hands with Monte Supreme and should the predicted rain fall, I'm happy to trust the stable should they elect to run her here.

A well-bred three-year-old, being by I Am Invincible and out of Sassy 'N' Smart (stakes winner), Monte Supreme was arrogant on debut when pulling away late after covering ground.

Interestingly, she was a big drifter in the market ahead of that 1000m Hawkesbury assignment and along with drawing kinder on Thursday, she should be better suited out to 1100m now.

Bishop Collins Accountants BM64 Handicap Tips (Race 7)

Gosford Best Bet - Race 7 No. 6 Crystal Waters

The market may take her on given she hasn't saluted in three tries over 1600m, however, Crystal Waters has bolted in twice at 1500m and both of those victories were on heavy ground.

Also, the timing may not have been right in those prior attempts over a mile, as she was either very deep into her campaigns or out of form, so we'll know for sure here being fourth-up.

In stronger company, the Paul Murray-trained mare has been ticking over nicely and after the Anna Roper claim, she's well with 55.5kg, now carrying 1.5kg less than a last-start maiden winner (fav).
