The daughter of Dissident came within a length of breaking her maiden when tackling an 1112m maiden at Hamilton back in September.

The filly tracked the speed on that occasion with the heavy 10 track appearing to suit on her only previous outing under Linda Meech.

A couple of below-par efforts over further followed that spell and she showed good form when returning from a break to be third over 1200m at Swan Hill last month.

The four-year-old will jump from next to the rail and Meech should prove capable of maintaining a prominent position on the selection who is taken to break her maiden at the sixth attempt.

DCIRS Community Care Maiden Plate Tips (Race 3)

Donald Best Bet - Race 3 No. 11 Turf Two

The filly has shown up well in three starts to date including when third on a heavy 8 surface in a maiden contest over 1300m at Bendigo June 29.

The pick raced close to the speed that day having been ridden from off the pace when finishing strongly for third in a 1200m maiden at Echuca prior.

That Echuca effort looks like a decent race, with the filly having winners in behind including the seventh home Palantus and the ninth Our Red Morning, a dual winner since including at Caulfield on Saturday.

Barrier eleven isn’t ideal here but the pick's tactical versatility should prove helpful with jockey Harry Coffey having options from the barriers.

Goldacres BM58 Handicap Tips (Race 5)

Donald Value Bet - Race 5 No. 6 Sugar And Sweet

The selection failed to shine in his final start last time around finishing down the field in a 1300m Benchmark 64 handicap at Warrnambool in January.

Trained by Rachel Samsonenko, Sugar And Sweet has shown a liking for this venue and a heavy surface before when winning by three lengths in a 1350m Restricted 58 contest here last September.

The drop back in trip here shouldn’t prove too much of an issue having performed well over track and trip when fourth in a similar race to this just over a year ago.

The son of Deep Field has performed well in stronger races than this in the past and while barrier ten isn’t ideal here he looks a big price to deliver a second first-up success.

Buloke Plumbing BM58 Handicap Tips (Race 7)

Donald Value Bet - Race 7 No. 13 Little Mermaid

The six-year-old has shown a liking for heavy tracks in the past including when narrowly beaten over 1200m in a metro event at Moonee Valley in October last year.

While not at her best since including when ninth over 1300m at Sandown Lakeside June 28, she gets a marked drop in grade for this contest having raced at Benchmark 70 level that day.

The pick is tactically versatile and has gone well when racing from off the pace and with that in mind, the presence of a couple of front-runners in here should ensure she has a good pace to run at.

Barrier eight should prove no issue for jockey Harry Coffey who takes the ride for the first time this spell and with three runs under her belt this time. Little Mermaid is value to strike here.
