Valencia entered the EuroLeague with plenty of optimism after lifting the Spanish Supercopa, defeating powerhouse Real Madrid in the final.

That win was symbolic, not just because of the trophy, but because it showed that coach Alex Mumbru’s team is maturing into a side capable of competing with the best. They followed up that triumph by grinding out a win in Round 1 against ASVEL, where their poise in late-game situations stood out.
