Big Brother have always been one of the most interesting social experiments to hit our TV screens. The mix of fly on the wall style recording coupled with some truly entertaining housemates over the course of the 13 series have seen viewers come back time and time again.
With roots based all the way back in 2001, there have been a grand total of 274 housemates, with two of these housemates returning for a second stint in the house.
As records go, the youngest winner was Aleisha Lee Cowcher, who won Big Brother 7 at the age of 20. The oldest housemate to have won was Terri Munro, who won Big Brother 8 at the age of 52.
Going all the way back to series 1, the winner was Ben Williams from Epping, Victoria. Blair McDonough and Sara-Marie Fedele came in second and third respectively, with the trio making history as the first top three in Big Brother Australia.
Heading to the opposite end of things, the series 13 winner was Marley Biyendolo from Melbourne, Victoria. The 25-year-old beat out competition form a massive 25 other housemates, with Christina Podolya and Sarah Jane Adams coming in joint-second for that series.
All told, there has been a brilliant range of people that have come and gone over the years. The novelty value of Big Brother may not be what it was, but the entertainment value is still exceptionally high.
Betting interest has remained very high on any and all Big Brother series. While some iterations of the show have been cancelled and renewed across the world, Big Brother Australia remains a mainstay of many people's nights.
