Zheng has struggled on grass, nearly faltering in her opener, whereas Raducanu has been dominant, not dropping a set en route to the quarters. With a stronger performance on home turf, Raducanu appears as the favorite to advance, targeting her first tour-level semi-final since last year. This will be their first professional meeting and could be a momentum builder for Raducanu leading into Wimbledon.

Zheng has struggled on grass in the early stages of her career, winning just one tour-level match on the surface in 2023 and 2024, while the Chinese star needed to recover from 1-4 down in the deciding set against McCartney Kessler in her Queen's Club opener. Raducanu meanwhile hasn't dropped a set across her two rounds to make a third grass court quarter-final in the last 12 months.
Despite going 3-11 against top 10 players throughout her career, I have Raducanu as the favourite here. She's a proven force on grass and at home, while Zheng is still learning how to best implement her powerful game on the lawns. Almost losing to Kessler isn't a great sign heading into this clash, so I'm backing Raducanu to lift and reach a first tour-level semi-final since Nottingham last year.
Head To Head
This will be the first career meeting between the pair.
Qinwen Zheng Form
Zheng comes into this showdown with an 18-9 record on the season and still searching for her first title of 2025.
Struggling with injury at the start of the year, Zheng only won one match across the opening two months - however, she went 16-6 from Indian Wells to Roland Garros, with her highlight coming in Rome when she scored a first win over Aryna Sabalenka en route to the semi-finals.
The World No. 5 couldn't repeat that effort at Roland Garros, going down to Sabalenka in the quarter-finals, falling to 1-4 at that stage in 2025.
Hoping to improve her grass court record over the coming month, Zheng was forced to dig deep in her Queens opener against Kessler, failing to create a break point in the second set and coming back from 1-4 down in the decider to prevail 6-3, 4-6, 7-5.
Emma Raducanu Form
Raducanu heads into this contest with a 15-11 record on the season, improving her ranking to No. 37 as she makes a last-ditch attempt to secure a seeding at Wimbledon.
Although it's been a more consistent year for Raducanu than previous seasons, she still came into this tournament without back-to-back wins in eight of her last 10 tournaments.
The Brit's standout performance so far in 2025 was a quarter-final run in Miami, while she also made the R16 in Rome and the third round of the Australian Open.
Raducanu has always performed strongly on the British lawns and she's been ruthless in making the Queens quarter-finals, demolishing Cristina Bucsa and Rebecca Sramkova by 6-1 6-2 and 6-4 6-1 scores respectively.

Verdict
Zheng is still finding her feet on grass and was fortunate to survive her opening match at Queens.
Raducanu has breezed into the quarter-finals and this feels like a big opportunity to gain some momentum ahead of Wimbledon - I think the British No. 1 seizes it.
