Emma Navarro is facing Beatriz Haddad Maia in a crucial match at the HSBC Championships at Queen's Club. Navarro is struggling with her form, having lost three of her last four matches including a significant defeat at the French Open. Meanwhile, Haddad Maia has shown promise on grass courts, with recent victories providing her confidence. Although both players have battled inconsistency, Haddad Maia's recent win against Navarro in Strasbourg positions her as a formidable opponent. The match promises excitement as Navarro seeks to defend her quarter-final points from Wimbledon.

Emma Navarro vs Beatriz Haddad Maia Tips, Prediction & Live Stream

World No. 10 Emma Navarro is on upset alert as she prepares to launch her HSBC Championships campaign at Queen's Club on Wednesday against Beatriz Haddad Maia in the second round.

I was expecting a Navarro slump at some stage in 2025 following her brilliant season last year and we could be smack bang in the middle of it right now. The American has lost three of her last four matches heading into this contest - including a defeat to Haddad Maia in Strasbourg just before Roland Garros and a shocking 6-0 6-1 loss to Jessica Bouzas Maneiro in the first round of the French Open. Very concerning scoreline.

Navarro has quarter-final points at Wimbledon to defend in the coming month and she is definitely struggling right now. Haddad Maia, admittedly, hasn't been in great form herself this season, but she does have some grass court pedigree, winning two titles back-to-back on the surface in 2022 at Birmingham and Nottinghan. With a recent win over Navarro, I'm happy to back Haddad Maia as the underdog here.

Head To Head

Haddad Maia leads 3-2, including that most-recent aforementioned win in Strasbourg. Haddad Maia has won three of the last four meetings, but this will be their first encounter off clay.

Emma Navarro Form

Navarro comes into this encounter with a 17-13 record on the season, with her highlight coming when she won the WTA 500 title in Merida in February.

However, truth be told, Navarro has been struggling for the bulk of the year. The American only has one top 20 win since making the Australian Open quarter-finals and that came against a then No. 17 Haddad Maia in Stuttgart.

Apart from that, Navarro hasn't beaten a player ranked higher than No. 65 in Europe, including that abysmal 6-0 6-1 loss to Bouzas Maneiro in the opening round of Roland Garros.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a fantastic run at Wimbledon last year, defeating the likes of Naomi Osaka and Coco Gauff in straight sets before going down to eventual runner-up Jasmine Paolini in the quarter-finals.

Beatriz Haddad Maia Form

Haddad Maia has experienced an extremely disappointing season, coming into this clash with a 7-16 record, winning back-to-back matches at just two tournaments.

The Brazilian reached the third round of the Australian Open and semi-finals of Strasbourg, but only has two main draw wins outside of those tournaments for the remainder of the year.

The 29-year-old was bundled out of the French Open in the first round by Hailey Baptiste in three sets, but is trying to turn things around at Queen's Club this week.

Haddad Maia got her campaign up and running with a 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 comeback victory over former Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova in her opening round.

Verdict

Both players in questionable form, but I'm liking the value with Haddad Maia.

The Brazilian beat Navarro a few weeks ago in Strasbourg, with the American going on to win just one game in her French Open first round.
