Melbourne Cup Day 2025 witnessed a spectacular moment as Half Yours clinched a prestigious victory at Flemington. The father-and-son training duo, Tony and Calvin McEvoy, celebrated their maiden win in the iconic race with Half Yours' triumphant performance over 3200m. Jamie Melham, the jockey behind this victory, engraved her name in history by becoming the first female to achieve the Caulfield Cup–Melbourne Cup double. She joins the ranks of Michelle Payne as one of only two women to have ever won the Cup, marking a memorable day in horse racing history.

Melbourne Cup Day 2025 produced a moment for the ages as Half Yours powered clear to deliver a famous victory in the nation’s greatest race at Flemington.
The Tony and Calvin McEvoy-trained stayer produced a brilliant staying performance to claim the 3200m feature, giving the father-and-son duo their first triumph in the Melbourne Cup.
Jamie Melham added her name to history with a perfectly timed ride, becoming the first female jockey to complete the Caulfield Cup–Melbourne Cup double after earlier success aboard the gelding in October.
The win also saw Melham join Michelle Payne as only the second woman ever to lift the Cup, a decade on from Payne’s trailblazing triumph aboard Prince Of Penzance.
